Island House on the Beach in Manasota Key

As you step on the sand, time stands still. Dolphins leap in the
air while blue herons and egrets mingle close by, loggerhead
turtles come ashore to lay eggs, and baby turtles scurry from the
nest to the water.
The gulf is mostly calm, safe, cool, and yields many treasures:
sand dollars, seahorses, and all kinds of small tropical fish. As you
stroll on the beach you will find lots of prehistoric sharks' teeth
and an amazing variety of seashells.
Manasota Key is a barrier island: unspoiled, pristine, breathtaking.
It has no traffic lights, only a two lane road separating beautiful
white sand beaches and Lemon Bay. Within easy walking distance there
is fine and casual dining, a convenience store, other shopping, and a
boardwalk.
There is great fishing right off the beach. Our guests have caught
countless mackerel, tarpon, cobia, redfish, whiting, and blues. If
you bring your boat, you can use one of the nearby ramps, or you can
hop aboard a local charter boat to go after grouper and many other fish.
You will probably not want to tear yourself away from Manasota Key's
charm, but if you want, you can be in one of Florida's many
attractions (Disney World) in less than 3 hours and Bush Gardens in
less than two hours. Venice and Sarasota are a short drive away,
providing further shopping and cultural opportunities.
Six apartments, all with two bedrooms except for one which has one
bedroom. There are three apartments downstairs and three upstairs
(only a dozen steps).
The gulf front apartments are larger than the rest and they have a
breathtaking view of the beach. All apartments have great views
from the living area, kitchen, master bedroom, and even from the
bathroom.
Every apartment has a queen size bed in the master (except #4 which
has a king) and two single beds in the other bedroom. Each apartment
comes with a full size kitchen, including a microwave, coffeemaker,
and toaster.
All linens, dishes, pots, and other necessities are provided for
you. All you need is a beach towel, your bathing suit, some
sunscreen, and just enjoy the water and the sun.
The owners, Ada & Ita, are there to make sure you have an enjoyable
stay. They speak English, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, and French.

RATES: Based on a maximum of two guests for the one BR apartment, 4 for the two BR.  Each additional guest (over 24 months of age) will be charged $20/night, or $100/week, $200/month.

MINIMUM STAY: Weekends require 2 nights.  Holidays require 3 nights.  February & March require a one month stay.

CHECK IN: 3 p.m. CHECK OUT: 10 a.m.  Early check in or late check out, if available: $50.

DEPOSITS:  25% deposit is required for a confirmed reservation (must pay at least for one night's rent).  Balance is due before your stay or at check-in.  If you cancel your reservation and we are able to re-book your reservation for the same, or greater duration of stay, we will refund your deposit, less a $20 administrative fee.  If we are unable to re-book your reservation, your deposit will not be refunded.  Should you not be able to make your stay due to a medical reason and we cannot re-book your reservation, a credit in the amount of your deposit will be applied to your account to be used on a future stay withing 6 months.

PETS: Certain apartments have been designated as pet friendly.  An additional fee of $10/night or $50/week, $100/month will be charged for each pet.  No more than two dogs may occupy a unit, with a maximum weight of 25 pounds per dog.  Your dog must be on a leash at all times when outside the apartment and all waste must be picked up.  Should we receive noise complaints regarding your dog, you may be asked to leave the resort and you will forfeit any amounts paid.

SMOKING: All units are non-smoking.  Any units with evidence of smoking will incur a $250 cleaning fee.  You are welcome to smoke outside the unit.

TAXES: Sales tax (7%) and Tourist tax (5%) added to the rates, for a total of 12%.

CLEANING FEE: $50 cleaning fee will be waived if you follow our basic check out guidelines.

SUPPLIES: Each apartment has an initial supply of disposable items; guests are responsible for additional supplies.  There is a laundry room on site; no daily linen exchange or maid service.
