Speke's Retreat is situated adjacent to Aunt Nell's Cottage (slps 4
in 2 bedrooms) in the small hamlet of Milford, 4 miles south west of
Hartland village (shops and services) and just one mile from
north Devon's fabulous dramatic Atlantic coastal scenery.

A country footpath just opposite the cottage leads to the south west
coast path at Speke's Mill Mouth with longest waterfall on North Devon's coast.

The stunning Hartland peninsula lies within North Devon's Area
of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Coastal walking north, to Hartland Quay, or
south to the Devon/Cornwall border is a must for walkers at any time
of the year.

With 5 en-suite bedrooms (3 shower and 1 bath) 2 king
size and 3 zip and link twin, Speke's Retreat really is that ideal property
for the larger group.
Two of the twin bedrooms have room for a guest bed. Two downstairs
bedrooms, upstairs bedrooms are carpeted. Downstairs, all slate
floors, very cosy with full underfloor central heating during the
winter months (no extra charge).

Very well equipped kitchen, 3 oven cooker and separate grill and 8
hotplates, 11 cu ft fridge, separate freezer, dishwasher, microwave,
washing machine (shared use of tumble dryer). Everything you could need.

Dining room with 10 foot table and electric 'woodburner', lounge,
with TV and DVD player, overlooking the sun terrace.

Outside terrace and garden with furniture, BBQ.

Walking coastal footpath and exploring the local coves and valleys
or - just spend the day on the beach! Explore the hidden valleys and tracks.

Gardens at Docton Mill, Hartland Abbey, Clovelly Court (check for
opening months) and RHS Rosemoor. Further a field The Lost Gardens
of Heligan and The Eden Project.

Large sandy surfing beaches at Bude, Sandymouth, Widemouth Bay, and
Kipling's Westward Ho!. For the experienced surfer the local coves
can prove a challenge.

Explore Exmoor and Dartmoor - about an hour's drive.

Golf at Hartland Forest Golf Course, Bude, Holsworthy, Westward Ho!
and Ivyleaf at Kilkhampton.

Family tourist attractions, Milky Way Adventure Park, The Big Sheep,
Dartington Crystal.

Sailing and watersports at Instow and Tamar Lakes. Fishing at
Hartland Forest, Tamar Lake and Clovelly Lakes.

1 well behaved DOG is allowed at an extra charge of £25 per dog per
week or part week.
