Vacation Rental Description

La Mariposa is a newly constucted villa on the beach at Manzanillo Bay in Troncones, 
Mexico. Only 30 minutes away from the resort area of Zihuatanejo-Ixtapa and 40 minutes 
from the International Airport,
Troncones is small village known for its pristine beaches and world-class surfing.

La Mariposa is a magnificent 6500 square foot home that boasts post-card views of the 
Pacific and the Sierra Madre del Sur Mountains all within steps of the warm waters of the 
ocean.

A gated entry leads you to a Colonial inspired courtyard and fountain, through 19th 
Century doors into the most breath-taking home in the area. Completed in January, 2006, 
noted architect Enrique Zozaya has created the home for people seeking the ultimate in 
Mexican beach living and lifestyle.

The environment at La Mariposa provides a secure, private and serene atmosphere with all 
the comforts you can imagine.

Enjoy the open-air living and dining style that is the signature to beach living while also 
having the option of privacy and security that La Mariposa provides in the bedrooms and 
media room. 

Vacation Rental Amenities

La Mariposa is a 4 bedroom, 5 bath villa with a media room containing a 52” US Satellite 
TV, IPOD stereo, with speakers throughout the house/pool area, Wi-Fi internet and a DVD 
player.
The two enormous upstairs bedroom suites each have terraces overlooking the ocean.
A 40’ Infinity pool and Palapa both overlook the beach. The Palapa is equipped with a wet 
bar, BBQ and seating for outdoor dining and relaxation.

For those who wish to apply their culinary talents, the state of the art Kitchen has been 
designed with you in mind. Equipped with top of the line appliances, professional gas 
stove with grill, blender, coffee maker, ice machine, Heinkel cutlery, and stylish 
dinnerware. On the other hand if just making some guacamole and margaritas all the tools 
are ready for you pleasure. 
Relax in the Living Room’s comfortable seating area to enjoy the sunset, read a book or 
engage in conversation while sipping on that margarita.
The Dining Area can comfortably seat up to 10 people around a table carved out of Perota 
wood.  
The Media Room contains a 52” hdtv with Satellite reception, dvd player, IPod stereo 
system (with speakers throughout the house and pool area), wireless Internet capability 
and international phone service.
La Mariposa (The Butterfly) has two wings on the second floor containing the 2 Master 
Suites.
The suites each contain their own individual living room area, master bathroom and bath, 
and a large terrace overlooking the ocean.
The King Bedroom in the ground floor has a most unique bathroom. Surrounded by plants, 
the secluded bathroom feels like you’re showering in a tropical rain forest.
The Queen Bedroom has 2 queen size beds and its own bathroom again with a private but 
outdoor feeling shower.
Both downstairs bedrooms have terraces overlooking the grounds and ocean as well.
Sleep under soft Egyptian-cotton sheets with down-filled pillows, while listening to the 
hypnotic sound of the ocean. 
All the bathrooms have showers that provide an overhead cascade of water in an open-air 
but private setting. All the bedrooms and media room are air conditioned and fully 
enclosed.
The Palapa provides a shaded area with a wet-bar, dining area and barbeque.
The 40 foot Infinity swimming pool is most spectacular. Teak chaise lounges and chairs 
are for your sun-worshipping comfort.
Our English-speaking caretaking staff of two live full time in their own casita on the 
grounds providing daily maid service and maintenance for La Mariposa. They can provide 
your shopping needs from the super market prior to your arrival.  They can arrange for 
meals to be cooked for you as well, upon request. 

Activities and Attractions

Restaurants: There are many choices in the Troncones area. La Cocina del Sol at Eden or 
The Inn at Manzanillo Bay both offer a wonderful menu just a stroll down the beach. The 
Café Sol and Burro Borracho are other of our favorites. 

Surfing/Swimming:  The Troncones area provides world-class surfing and surfing 
instruction.  You can rent boards nearby and be pointed in the right direction to suit your 
abilities.

Horseback Riding:  A fun way to see the area along the beach and hills.

Massage:  There are many terrific masseuses in the area.  Most will come to La Mariposa 
for a relaxing massage in the privacy of the house or palapa.

Yoga: Enjoy one of the first rate yoga establishments in Troncones. 

Eco-Tours: Enjoy a day (or half-day) of biking/kayaking to see the best of what the area 
has to offer. 

Fishing: The fishermen in the nearby village of Majahua (the next village to the north, 
down the road) are available to take small groups out on their small fishing boats/Pangas. 
Bring home a dinner of red snapper or dorado.
There are a multitude of larger boats out of Zihuatanejo for the big ones.

Golf: There are two courses in Ixtapa (1/2 hr.away). Campo de Golf and The Marina Course 
are both excellent. They both rent clubs if needed.

Bikes, surfboards, snorkeling equipment and boogie boards are available for rent nearby.
