Vacation Rental Description

Windsong Cottage has a 100' fine sand beach and is located on a small
quiet pond in Lincoln. Egg pond is connected to Caribou and Long
Ponds. Egg is about 55 miles from Bangor. The seasonal cottage has 2
bedrooms, 1 bathroom, a large living room/dining room combination and
a seperate kitchen. There is an electric stove, refigerator and water
heater. The cottage is nestled in a wooded section over looking a 
grass/tree area and Egg Pond. A kerosine oil heater and electric are
available for heating. Windsong
is home to many kinds of birds: Loons, Eagles, Osprey, Ducks are all
commonly seen. We usually have a tree swallow family nesting in our
bird house through early July.

Vacation Rental Amenities

Windsong cottage has two bedrooms, one with a double bed the second
with a queen bed. There is an optional single folding bed.  Please ask
if you need it.  There are two large coaches that could be used for
sleeping. All bedding, towels, face cloths are supplied. There are
ample pots, pans, dishes etc.  We do not have a well, the water is
supplied through a water pump
from the pond and used for washing and showering. We supply 5 gallions
of spring water a week for
drinking and cooking. We do offer two fireplaces with ample firewood:
one on the beach and one in the grass area near the cottage. We also
offer a
portable propane grill for outside cooking if you prefer. A twelve
foot powered row
boat and kayak are
availabe for a norminal fee.
We have 3 fishing poles that you may use. Maine does require you have
a license. Big mouth Bass and Pickeral are plentiful.

Activities and Attractions

Great place to relax and get away for a while. One way to do so is
to swim or sun bathe. The beach is a natural white fine sand. The
water is warm and crystal clear, the deepest part of the pond is only
15' deep. If you have a kayak or boat, feel free to bring it. We have
a wharf you can tie up to or you can beach your boat. The town of
Lincoln has a boat launch and a 15 foot dam on Long pond. We can help
you launch your boat through our beach if you prefer. Egg pond is an
outdoor persons place to explore, it connects through a narrows to two
other ponds, Caribou and Long. There are miles of untouched natural
shoreline, water ways and woods to explore in the three ponds. In
August the shoreline is loaded with tasty and nutricous high bush
blueberries. Bird watching is a must Eagles and Loons are commonly
seen. We saw three Eagles in one day. For those who like to hike
Baxter State Park with Mount Katahdin,Maines only mile high mountain
is only 1 hour away. If cabin fever stikes the town of Lincoln is only
10 minutes away. They have a WalMart, McDonald's, Hannaford Super
Market and a surplus and salvage store called Mardens. Plus several
fine restaurants. Bangor is only 1 hour away, a major shopping and
cultural center in Central Maine. 

Vacation Rental Rates

May and September $550. per week. 
June, July, and August $700. per week. Please note: $100. will be
returned upon acceptable inspection of the property. Clean and damage
free.
Above rates are based on a family (parents and children)
additional: $50. per person. A deposit of $200. is required and the
cottage will be booked on receipt of the moneys. Balance due upon
arrival. Cancelations are excepted up to 60 days before the starting
date and the $200. will be returned. No moneys returned for partial
time use.
The rental period is from Saturday 1pm to the following Saturday 11am.
Maine State Lodging tax of 7% will be assessed.
