Lagoon Cottage - Mosquito Lagoon in Edgewater

We have a 3 bedroom, 2 bath home in Oak Hill (borders Edgewater),
Florida that we are offering as a vacation rental. Our home backs
up to a deep water canal offering access to the Intracoastal
Waterway and the Mosquito Lagoon. You can tie your boat up to our
dock.

The Master Bedroom has a king size bed, cable television, and a walk
in closet, the other two bedrooms have full size beds and standard
closets.

The living room has a sofa, a futon that can sleep two, and calbe
television. The dining room is off of the living room and has a
table that can be extended to seat 10 people.

The kitchen is furnished and ready to go including even a blender
for margaritas and a coffee maker to help you get going in the
morning. Pots, pans, dishes, glasses, cups, and flatware are all
included. Appliances include dishwasher, stove, microwave, and refrigerator
with ice maker. There is another table and chairs in the kitchen.

Outside you can enjoy the nice back yard overlooking the canal.
There is a wonderful large live oak in the back yard with Osprey
nests in it. You can enjoy the shade under the oak tree or under
the covered porch.

We have young children so we try to keep the house "kid friendly".
Please let us know if you have any special needs such as a crib,
high chair or
stroller.

We do have a washer and dryer in the house so you can reduce the
quantity of your packing.

This is a wonderful undiscovered area! It supports many
activities. Of course many of them are focused on boating.

If you like to fish, this is the best place in Florida for Red
Fishing and Shrimping.

You can spend time exploring the Intracoastal Waterway whether you
have a cruiser or a kayak.

Mosquito Lagoon has been designated an Outstanding Florida Water by
the State of Florida and, as part of the Indian River Lagoon, an
Estuary of National Significance by the Environmental Protection
Agency. It is renown for its outstanding biological diversity,
recreational fishery and as habitat for several federally-protected
animals.

If you want to spend time at the beach, New Smyrna Beach is
about 10 miles north of here. It is a very nice beach that not many
tourists know about. It is the "local" beach that many people from
Orlando frequent.

If you want more of the touristy flair, World Famous Daytona Beach
is just north of New Smyrna Beach.

Of course Daytona Beach is also home to the infamous Daytona 500,
the related speed weeks, and bike week.

We are also just North of Cape Canaveral and the Kennedy Space
Center. You can take a tour of the Space Center and see where Man
launched to see the moon and the Space Shuttles. You will have a
wonderful view of a launch if you are lucky enough to be here during
a launch.

And we can't forget what Central Florida is famous for, our theme
parks. Disney World, Universal Studios, and Sea World are all only
65 minutes away.

Our standard rate is $700 per week with higher rates for special
events. We can work out rates if you are interested in a shorter or
longer term rental.
