Strathcona Cottage in Shawnigan Lake

One of the Last "Original" Cottages left on the Shawnigan Lake.  This charming cottage sleeps up to 5 people maximum comfortably in
two bedrooms. One bedroom has a queen bed with lake views, the
other has bunk beds to sleep three. Recently, renovated and stylishly
decorated.
Gorgeous views and sunsets over Strathcona Bay, Shawnigan Lake and
hills beyond.
Rustic Strathcona Cottage is 66 years old and is nestled amid tall
Douglas Fir and Cedar trees on a private 1/2 acre lot at the base of
Mt. Baldy.  Onced housed E.J. Hughes parents while they were care taker for the famous Strathcona Lodge. E.J. Huges, himself, lived for 20 years in our other property next door were he painted the majority of his work.  This cottage has Lake access across the road. The dock is shared with our other property "The Lake House". Double kayak with adult and childs vest available for use.
We offer a smoke and pet free accommodation.

Living Room: Views of lake, very comfortable leather sofas, cable
TV, DVD/VCR player with movies, stereo with CD player and tape deck, MP3 Player
and reclining rocker. For those lazy days there are lots of books to
read and board games to play.
In-line Dining Room: dining for 6
Wood stove with firewood provided for those cool non-summer evenings.
Kitchen: full and well equipped.
Bedroom one: views of lake, queen size bed.
Bedroom two: bunk bed, double on bottom and single on top.
Bathroom: four piece with rain stream shower head.
Relax and admire the lake on either the covered front porch or the
open patio a few steps down. Barbecue. Outdoor furniture.
Plush bath and beach towels, 300 count bed linens, comfortable
pillows, cozy comforters and more.

Off the dock: swimming, fishing (trout-stocked), boating, wake
boarding, sailing, water and or jet skiing. Room to moor one boat.
Nearby you can enjoy: 3 golf courses within 15 miles, hiking,
horse back riding and a public large sandy beach just minutes away.
The restaurant at the Marina is licensed, and the Marina offers full
boat services and fuel, water equipment rentals, float plane base
and tours. Only a few minutes walk away!
Shawnigan Lake Village: 2 km (1.5 miles) north offers well stocked
convenience stores, post office, DVD/VCR rentals, internet cafe, coffee shop,
restaurants, a great bakery, ATM's, pharmacy, gas station, Shawnigan Lake Museum, health care and several boutiques.
For those who like to venture further, Victoria is about 25 miles
south from Shawnigan Lake. Duncan, City of Totems, is north less
than 15 minutes by car and a few minutes beyond is Chemanius, noted
for its murals and dinner theatre. Mill Bay is 5 miles ride east and
has a very good shopping centre and ocean beaches.
There are also several wineries in the area.
