The Santa Monica Downtown Beach Community including Venice and Marina Del Rey is a fabulous place.  There is so much enjoyment in this small ½ mile square area. After living and working here I will never live anywhere else.  You don’t even need a car.  You can walk everywhere. In the last 10 years I still haven’t tried all the great restaurants.  The city continues to add new thing and bring excitement to this much sought after area.  Last year Cirque de Soleil was here for 6 months.  In summer 2010 Santa Monica Place was completed, a 100 million dollar indoor/outdoor entertainment/shopping magnet, 3 blocks from the beach. (SOHO meets South Beach). In 2009 the beach front Annenberg Pool opened. This brand new 9 million dollar non membership beach club and pool is walking distance form down town Santa Monica. All of this is in addition to the one of a kind 3rd Street Promenade with fabulous shopping, zagat rated gourmet restaurants, movies, theatre, and night life.

The Venice Beach and Marina area has just as much to offer.  The Venice Boardwalk is fun for shopping and people watching all year and it is always crowded because the weather is great.  Main Street has great restaurants and more shopping.  Abbot Kenny Street is another superb area and the Marina corridor at the Venice Pier is another great hangout place for the whole family. At the edge of town is the Getty Villa a fabulous newly restored museum.  Don’t forget about Brentwood and Westwood just adjacent to Santa Monica.  Even though you will not be able to hit all the great things in the Santa Monica community, you still may want to take the kids to Hollywood, Disneyland or Universal Studios/City Walk.  These locations are an easy 10 to 30 minutes on the 10 freeway that you pick up in Santa Monica.  

Don’t you want to live amongst the stars in an exclusive area most dream of living in? You may bump into celebrities as you walk to the café for your morning coffee or at dinner at one of Santa Monica Place’s exclusive new restaurants.
