The Del Mar Oaks is a multi-level, comfortable, unique family home with an ocean view situated just a short 5 minute walk from the famous Rio Del Mar beach.... just far enough to feel peacefully apart from the crowds, but an easy amble to the beach. This popular beach runs just south of Santa Cruz and boasts miles of sand, a variety of restaurants/delis, amble parking and public
facilities. There is also a shopping center a quick 2 minute drive away with Safeways, Rite Aid, a movie theater and lots of other shops and restaurants.

This beautifully furnished vacation home has vaulted wood-beam ceilings, hardwood and carpeted flores, lots of windows and skylights, and 5 separate decks. This house has a luxurious cabin feel to it with beautiful mahogany real wood panelling throughout the main living areas. It is nestled under huge oak trees in a Thomas Kinkade like fashion. The unique ocean view from the front decks is a wonderful place to relax and listen to the ocean, or BBQ and eat dinner. The large gourmet kitchen has a large centered bar counter with bar stools and a separate family style dining table that takes advantage of the ocean view. The newly tiled counter tops surround all new appliances. All dishes, utensils, and and gourmet counter top appliances are included.

The newly furnished master bedrrom, on the main floor, boasts a "memory foam" king bed, with luxury linens and comforters. The new 30" LCD flat screen TV, wooden vaulted ceiling, attached master bath, and large closet makes sleeping time in this room a real pleasure. A large private deck is accessed from this master suite. The bathroom off this suite also has a private hall entrance for the convenience of the loft guests.

Two more bedrooms downstairs are separated by a large bathroom that contains double vessel sinks, a spa tub and laundry facilities. One of these rooms contains a new California King bed and a crib bed for those quests who have a baby. The other downstairs room can sleep up to 4 people with it's 2 twin beds and a trundlebed.

Also downstairs, a sliding glass door leads to the back yard with its beautiful umbrella of oak trees. There is also a large playhouse in the backyard.

The top floor is a private loft bedroom with two separate decks which sleeps three more quests with a Queen Bed and a Single Bed. This a beautiful wood room that echos the sound of the ocean waves all night long.

The main living room has a gas fireplace and a new 42" flat screen plasma TV with a high definition Digital Comcast connection. The new luxurious leather sofa contains a queen size bed and two lazyboy type loungers. A separate large leather lounger is also part of this room's ensemble. Large floor to ceiling windows and skylights in the wooden vaulted ceiling gives you a unique view of the enveloping oak trees. This room also has it's own separate large patio deck with a large gas grill, a weber, and an outside dinnette. This room is great for large group gatherings. A computer with a high speed broadband internet connection is provided for guests to use. There is also WIFI internet connections for those who want to bring their laptops.

The front driveway can accommodate several cars.

While there is actually a lot to discover in Rio del Mar, the real reason for coming here is the beauty of all of Santa Cruz County and the plethora of outdoor activities; variety of terrain, beauty and wildlife that abound; an abundance of opportunity to commune with nature, and well ok - the abundance of junque, antique, and chic thrift shops (with some great collectables), great music, arts and other activities and festivals from Monterrey and Carmel to our south, to Santa Cruz and San Francisco to our north. The Jewel of all is the Monterrey Bay National Marine Sanctuary and it's 14 mile inland finger, Elkhorn Slough.
Californians have been escaping the heat here for years-over 150, the history is rich and so are the sights, but when it's time for sunset you'll want to retreat to the quiet and peaceful charm of Rio del Mar Beach and it's view of the sun dropping behind Capitola, and twilight blanketing all of our cliffs, beach and surf. Enjoy a great gourmet dinner at the famous Rio Cafe down on our beach. When the city becomes quiet and dark, sit out on our main view deck with it's comfortable lounging furniture and watch the stars and listen to the surf.

Peak Season Rates (June 1 - Aug 31) - $2450/week - $350/night (min 3 nights) - for month of July - add $50/night
Low Season Rates (Sep 1 - May 31) - $300 per night for 3 nights, $350 per night for 2 nights.
(Holiday Weekend rates) - $350 per night - min 3 nights (Xmas/New Year rates vary depending on length of stay)
