Vacation Rental Description

Hale Lana....located at the Manini beach section of Kealakekua 
Bay....a small, quiet, low key shoreline community.  It is situated 
among a mix of local style and unique newer homes. It is an ideal 
retreat for couples or honeymooners. Only steps (a two minute 
walk)to enter the crystal clear water at palm lined Manini 
beach,across from the Captain Cook monument,for the best snorkeling 
in the islands.  Pristine Kealakekua Bay is a protected marine 
preserve offering numerous water activities and spinner 
dolphinsightings (and whales in winter).  Hale Lana is removed from 
noise and traffic and is fully fenced and gated for added privacy.  
The home is a new superbly crafted luxurious pole and beam house 
showcasing natural woods ,slate tile,granite,tropical furnishings 
and a ten jet spa tub.  There are large indoor and outdoor walk-in 
showers.  The high  open beam ceilings throughout, the roof 
cupola,decking and louvered transoms are reminiscent of a boat or 
Noah's Arc, thus the name "Hale Lana" (floating house).  This also 
efficiently allows the balmy breezes and scents of the bay an 
surrounding plumeria trees to flow through.  There are ample lanais 
to relax in sun or shade and take in the sounds of the waves and 360 
views of the bay and pali (mountain).  It is easy to let 
yourself "hang loose" at Hale Lana!

Vacation Rental Amenities

Large airy living spaces.  Two queen beds.  Fully equiped kitchen 
upstairs and large kitchenette downstairs provide totally separate 
living areas.  Every needed amenity including dishwasher, 
microwaves,BBQ grill, coffee makers and grinders, toasters.  Ceiling 
fans everywhere.  Washer,dryer,outdoor sink and efficient solar 
dryer (clothesline)!  Cable TV/DVD/CD/surround sound.  Wireless 
internet access.  All linens.  
Beachtowels,chairs,coolers,umbrella,boogie 
board.  Walk-in covered tile outdoor shower.  Covered and off street 
parking.  
Privacy fencing and gates.

Activities and Attractions

Grocery stores and shopping and numerous restaurants are a 15 minute 
drive away.  There are many areas to explore on foot.  Historic 
Place of Refuge featuring picnic areas,whale sightings, Hawaiian 
cultural displays and awesome sunsets and dates from the 1500's is 
three miles south. Ke'ei,a crescent shaded,white sand surfing beach, 
home to many turtles, is a short drive [or walk away].  It is also 
located in the heart of ranches and rodeo grounds and coffee and 
macademia nut farms and mills as well as country stores and fruit 
stands with locally grown produce.  Other nearby attractions are 
the "Painted Church" (wall murals), Hawaiian Ethnobotanical Garden 
and a wonderful ornate Buddhist temple open to visitors. 
 
Hale Lana is conveniently located between "downtown" Kailua-Kona 
(for extensive shopping,dining and nightlife) and the volcano and 
green and black sand beaches to the south, making it ideal "home 
base".  Relax on the numerous nearby beaches or get on the road and 
easily explore all the "Big Island" has to offer! 

Vacation Rental Rates

Separate upstairs and downstairs units.  $100.(Summer/Fall April 1 
to Oct. 31) to $125.(Winter Nov. 1 to March 31) in downstairs studio
(with three to four night minimum) and $140.(Summer/Fall April 1 to 
Oct. 31) to $175. (Winter Nov. 1 to March 31) in upstairs unit (with 
four to five  night minimum). Whole house (accomodating four) $240. 
to $275. per night(four to five night minimum). State tax of 
ll.41%.  Refundable Security Deposit of $100. Studio and $300. Upstairs. 
Cleaning Fee:  Studio $50. and Upstairs $150.  
Reservation Deposit of 25% and balance 60 days prior.

major credit cards [PayPal] and checks.  Downstairs studio unit with 
kitchenette, large tile shower, garden and mountain view, queen
