Vacation Rental Description

  
    The Cottage is situated right on the shore of Bear Lake which is 
located in the town of Bear Lake Michigan.  The property is located 
just north of town on the main road and is in walking distance of 
local businesses. 
    The Cottage is within feet of Bear Lake which is located in Northern 
Michigan just east of the Lake Michigan Shoreline and just north of 
Manistee. There is 1,800 square feet of living area that includes 
bedrooms, bath rooms, kitchen, eating area, living - family room with 
fireplace, and front and back porches. 
    There are five bedrooms in total with three bedrooms on the main 
floor and two bedrooms upstairs. One of the upstairs bedrooms has an 
open floor plan and is open to the stairway. Three bedrooms 
downstairs: one bedroom has two twinn beds, the other two have a full 
size bed in each. Two bedrooms upstairs: one has two twinn beds, the 
other open floor plan bedroom has a full size bed.
 There are two bath rooms which are both on the main floor. One bath 
room has a shower while the other bath room has a claw foot bathtub. 
The kitchen is fully furnished with Fiesta ware dishes, silverware, 
linens, microwave oven, toaster, coffee maker and electric stove. 
There is enough room to sit at the kitchen counter or pull up to the 
table situated in the eating area just off from the living - family 
room. 
The living - family room is fully furnished and includes 50 inch 
Plasma with Bose Sound system, cable television and a wood burning 
fireplace that can be used year round. The enclosed porch is just off 
from the living - family room and is just another place to relax with 
a great view of Bear Lake. A high speed
internet connection is located on the porch which makes it another 
reason for it's popularity at times. 
The cottage also includes a mud room with both a washer and a dryer 
at the main entrance of the cottage. 
There is a picnic area and plenty of seating out on the outside deck 
that is along the lake side of the cottage. There is a fire pit 
situated along the beach's edge along with a swinging chair and 
hamock. 
There is a dock that stretches out into Bear Lake where you can tie 
your boat to. At this time there is no boat provided with the rental; 
however, you may bring your own boat as long as you take it to the 
public boat launch to put the boat in and to take your boat out.

Vacation Rental Amenities

    If pottery barn could sell a cottage, what would it look like?  Would it have inviting colors  
throughout, would it have all the charm a hundered year old cottage should, but with all the updates 
we come to expect?  Would there be custom made furniture that is comfortable and clean?  
    We think so and that is what you will find at our cottage. We think you will enjoy the amenities 
that include a 50 inch Plasma TV with bose surround sound, Cable TV, DVD Player, High Speed Internet 
and a brand new washer and dryer.  No need to worry about cold showers, the cottage has a brand new 
tankless hot water heater or that a bath in the original claw foot bathtub. The cottage has a fully 
stocked kitchen with many nice pots,pans,dishes and many basic spieces. The linens are cotton and 
the bath towels are fluffy. You are our guest...enjoy!

Activities and Attractions

Goodbye to summer and the falling of the autumn leaves, a new season 
is on its way. This is Northern Michigan and the fun does not stop 
when the snow starts to fly.  You know Michigan, the Great Outdoors 
state. If you are interested in snow mobiling, downhill skiing, cross 
country skiing and snow boarding we are located in a prime location 
just north of Manistee and south of Traverse City in an area that is 
well known for its hilly country side. With Lake Michigan only five 
minutes away there are plenty of activities to do on the lake shore. 
Head up to Sleeping Bear Dunes in less than thirty minutes or just go 
cross country skiing on the many trails along the picturesque 
shoreline which include several light houses. Make sure you check out 
the area for State Parks trails and other places to go snow mobiling.

Vacation Rental Rates

    This property is available year round and can be rented weekly or 
monthly. 
    Summer: Memorial week to Labor day week is $1900 a week 
Saturday check in is at 4:00 pm, Saturday check out 11:00 am
    off season: $1100 a week or $550 for the weekend
