It is the perfect spot for hunting and fishing groups - with added features, such as an outdoor fish cleaning station and a separate freezer - perfect for extra ice, or for storing your fishing and hunting bounty.
It is the perfect spot for family vacations, with two very large family rooms, indoor dining for 14, a fully outfitted kitchen and plenty of seating - your group can visit, play games, watch cable TV or CDs/Tapes, access the Internet with high-speed wireless access, or enjoy the outdoor spaces.
It is the perfect spot for "snow-birds" - retirees who want to escape the harsh winters of the northern climates. We have special low monthly rates for winter months!
Mild spring and fall days will make the screened porch a wonderful place for afternoon gatherings - dining for 10 and seating for 12. There is a water-view swing at the forest's edge where you can enjoy the beautiful fall weather and watch the wildlife. Or, sit on the covered balcony for a birds-eye view of the cove and the wildlife as they come and go with the ease that is born of such a natural environment. Take long walks in the wildlife areas, where terrain is gentle and open and the water is an always fascinating attraction.
There is plenty of off-street parking, with covered areas for up to 3 vehicles or a combination of boats and vehicles.
For those of you who are not familiar with Clarks Hill / Strom Thurmond Lake, it is a 70,0000 acre lake with approximately 1,200 miles of shoreline.
At full pool, we have about 14 feet of water depth at the end of our private dock. The Army Corps of Engineers are known to raise and lower the lake levels to accommodate conditions throughout the year. (Always check with the Army Corps of Engineers for lake conditions if this is a concern.)
Most lakefront homes sit on a steep hill with difficult access or so far back that the view is blocked by the trees. Beware of lakefront rentals with no view and difficult access to the dock... or no dock - always ask! Photos can be deceiving. Also ask about water depths.
I have experienced email addresses that are incorrect (or you have your blocking agent on) and phone messages I cannot understand. Cell phone calls can be especially difficult to hear. I always return calls and emails, even if the house is unavailable. If you do not hear from me, it is because your email address or phone message was not usable. Please speak slowly and clearly, especially when saying your phone number. If I do not call, please call me back after 6pm.
