Vacation Rental Description

Casa Castilla is featured in the new Rizzoli book, Casa San Miguel, a
gorgeous coffee table book from the acclaimed architectural
photographer, Tim Street-Porter. Built from the existing ruins of San
Miguel de Allende’s original orphanage, Casa Castilla’s three-foot
wide stone walls date back to the early 1600’s.  While keeping the
castle-like feel of the house, Norwegian architect, Anja Fauske,
transformed Casa Castilla into a modern day masterpiece, while Rhode
Island School of Design-trained interior designer, Anne-Marie Midy,
added her gorgeous signature French style to create an enchanting and
unique design to every room. 

Truly a work of art in itself, Casa Castilla brings to mind a MC
Escher-inspired creation come to life with its multi-level terraces,
stone passageways and arched staircases. Reining above one of the many
grand archways you’ll find a 17th century statue of archangel, St.
Michael, the city’s patron saint. Only three blocks from the jardin in
the historic centro of San Miguel de Allende Casa Castilla offers
spectacular panoramic views from its three rooftop patios, where the
outdoor dining and barbeque area seats 12.

For those who like to paint, you can enjoy the light filled artist
studio.  Enjoy the entertainment room with a flat screen TV, stadium
seating and an extensive library of DVD’s.  And, guests of Casa
Castilla are allowed swimming pool privileges at the beautiful hotel
Hacienda de los Flores right next door.

steel appliances and gourmet pizza oven. Completed in 2006, modern
