Fishing - Redfish, trout and other species can be found in the back
waters off the intra coastal waterways among the salt water marshes.
Deep sea fishing with many local charter boats at the City Marina
and Tiger Point Marina.
Surf fishing - Whiting, redfish and trout can be fished just off the
beach.
Hiking & backpacking - Many trails throughout the island ie. Egans
Creek Greenway, Fort Clinch, Talbot Island and Little Talbot Island,
Fort George Island and Cumberland Island.
Kayaking - Scenic paddling can be found among the tidal creeks of
the salt water marshes just south of the Amelia Island Plantation at
Big Talbot Island State Park.
Horseback Riding - Gallop (or trot) at sunset along the beach of the
Atlantic Ocean...stables located just south of us on the island.
Dining / shopping - The historic and quaint City of Fernandina Beach
with numerous shops & restaurants is just minutes away to the north
with the Amelia Island Plantation Shops just minutes away to the
south! Amelia Island prides itself on its variety of
restaurants...from casual seafood by the river to fine dining at the
Ritz! Take the Mayport Ferry (just south on AIA) over to Mayport /
Atlantic Beach or take the 265'high Dames Point Bridge over the
intra coastal waterway to Jacksonville, FL (approx. 40 min. away)
for more dining / shopping experiences.

Jacksonville Zoo - Spectacular new 'Range of the Jaguars' exhibit in
