vacation rental description

Our recently remodeled lake cottage is located in a quiet, semi-secluded rural setting on beautiful Lake Louisa in Florida's citrus country. Lake Louisa is the last and largest on the Clermont Chain of Lakes, made up of 13 individual lakes linked together. We are situated in Lake County, just five miles west of the US Hwy 27 & US 50 intersection for rapid access to all major Florida attractions.

Our vacation rental is a cottage home, tastefully decorated, appropriately, in a tropical theme. The interior was recently renovated so everything inside is still quite new.

Bedrooms: The cottage has two bedrooms. One bedroom has a twin bed plus a trundle/day bed that pulls out to make 2 twin size beds. The other bedroom has a queen-sized bed. All necessary linens (sheets, towels, blankets), plus an iron and ironing board are in the unit.

Florida Room: The sunken Florida Room (as we Floridians refer to "Family Rooms") is a spacious 25' x 16' and overlooks the lake. It has a color TV and Satellite service with several premium channels. Also available for your use is a DVD player and a VHS player. It is furnished with new, comfy, overstuffed sofa, love seat and over-sized chair & ottoman, glass top coffee & end tables plus a set of brand new TV trays in a stand. Keep fit with an exercise bike. There is an additional table in the room suitable for dining, card/game playing or computer setup. High speed Internet service is ready to use via wireless relay. You'll find plenty of books, magazines, games and VHS / DVDs to browse through for entertainment on days when you choose to just kick back and relax.

Kitchen: The kitchen is beautifully decorated with highest quality granite countertops, glass top range, microwave, dishwasher, deep double sink, frost free refrigerator, coffee maker, blender, toaster and all necessary cookware and dishes. Lake Louisa is the view from the sink window. You're sure to find it a convenient and accommodating place to prepare meals.

Dining Room: The dining room ajoins the open kitchen on one wall and with sliding glass doors separating the sunken family room on another wall. It features a large rattan and glass top dining table with 6 place settings. Extra chairs are available if needed. Enjoy a romantic dinner. The overhead chandelier lighting is on a dimmer switch. Throughout the kitchen and dining room is soft mood track lighting, also on dimmer switches. The east facing wall has a round porthole-style window overlooking Lake Louisa.

Overall: The entire cottage is charmingly wrapped in the nostalgic glow of authentic rustic knotty pine on wall and ceiling. This is not the cheaper imitation so common today.

Off the kitchen entrance door is a carport. And, of course, the cottage has central air conditioning/heatingto keep you comfortable year round. If you decide to stay in the area, you can walk, boat or fish on Lake Louisa or just relax in the quiet Florida sunshine and enjoy some of the fresh oranges, tangerines and grapefruits on the property.

The overall size of the cottage is that of a large, two-bedroom apartment.

What Can You Do There?: You will enjoy being situated in the heart of Florida's attraction area.

Only a few miles away you will find Disney World, home of the Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom and Epcot.

The fabulous MGM Studios with the Hard Rock Cafe and Universal Theme Park are both a short, 20-minute drive.

At about the same drive time, you will find Gatorland, Sea World, and Silver Springs, each with magnificent aquatic spectacles. You can take a day trip to the Kennedy Space Center at Cape Canaveral - 50 miles to the east or toTampa, Busch Gardens, Saint Petersburg and the Gulf of Mexico - 50 miles to the west.

Sport Enthusiasts: The "Orena", home of NBA's Orlando Magic Basketball team is about a 30 minute drive during basketball season. Another great attraction is the Triathlon Training Center. Clermont is home to the National Triathlon Training, where athletes from all over the country come to train for national competition. For a mere $15 a day you can get a pass to the center and enjoy the use of all the training equipment the athletes use, including an Olympic-sized swimming pool.

Your reservation can be confirmed with a $100 per week deposit (US Dollars). Personal check, traveler's check or money order, payable to Phoenix Rising Unlimited, will hold your reservation. The balance is due upon arrival.

Charming Cottage and Host

Review submitted: April 16, 2014   Date of arrival: April 11, 2014

I reserved Barb's cottage to attend a mini-reunion of high school friends. For less than the price of a hotel room, we enjoyed her beautiful and rustic cottage on Lake Louisa. The cottage is right on the lake and provides beautiful views. Being pet-friendly was an added plus for us as we traveled with 2 small dogs. The description of the property was perfect and just as depicted in the photographs. Barb met us when we arrived Thursday evening and gave us the grand tour and all the information we needed for our stay. There was even a beautiful fruit basket awaiting us with home-made treats for the pups. Even though she lives right next door, she never intruded, but we did speak when we saw each other in the yard. The property is fenced which was great for the dogs. It was close enough to stores and restaurants, but was located in a quiet residential area and so peaceful. I hope to go back again this summer. It was a fabulous find. I did have a problem with the wireless connection, but used my smartphone as a hotspot, so the Wi-Fi connectivity was not really an issue for me. Communication was excellent as she responded very promptly to my e-mails and payments can be made through PayPal - an added plus.

Reunite with Brother

Review submitted: May 16, 2011   Date of arrival: May 12, 2011

I grew up in the Lake county area and wanted a lake to stay on while i visited Clermont. The cottage was better than expected and true to the listing description, the pictures are accurate and the cottage is charming and comfortable. Barb and Richard were very easy to work with and they made sure to give us our privacy but were great neighbors. The view from the back onto Lake Louisa is breathtaking and so peaceful. I enjoyed my coffee watching the sun come up and listening to the birds sing I even saw a hawk swoop down and catch a fish out of the lake.
What a treat!!
We will definately stay here again.
