traveler reviews for this naples house rental

august vacation

Review submitted: August 28, 2011   Date of arrival: August 20, 2011

our vacation was very relaxing. the house was very roomy and clean. there are three bedrooms, one with a queen, one with a full and twin, and a third with two bunk beds and a fifth single, very good for a bunch of kids. the kitchen was small but easy to use, the appliances were newish and the counter was good for kids at breakfast. there is plenty of room in the open main floor with three couches a rocker and plush chair to relax in. the windows and fans worked well. the bathrooms were clean but very basic. the downstairs was also very roomy but musty smelling. there is a dehumidifer that was not too effective. the front room downstairs hold a pingpong table thar is in good shape and the space is great to stor stuff for the waterfront. it is down hill to the water and the small beach in the picture is now a small loose stone wall. my grandchildren, ages 7 and 8 had no trouble swimming and jumping off the jetty. in fact the swimming was great for all of us. the grassy area above the water was a great place to sit, relax and watch the kids or read or have a fire at night. there is a up hill trek back to the house but you do get use to that pretty quick. i would recommend this place to almost anyone except those who cannot walk back up to the house. i would guess the total height is about 3 to 5 flights of stairs.

Recommended for: families with young children, families with teenagers

Owners response: The basement area is Usually fine but with some heavy rains lately this summer 2011 we have had to run the dehumidifier a lot. This rain (and hurricane Irene) has also caused some erosion at the small Beach which will be repaired in the fall of 2011 The walk up from the waterfront to the house is ok for most everyone except for elderly with walking issues. There is only ONE flight of stairs consisting of seven steps.
