Fishermans Paradise! Unwind and relax beneath the tall pines in our
cozy 2-bedroom cottage located in the “Mayberry Like” community of
Norris,Tennessee. Just 4 miles to the lake. We are just 2 miles from
I-75, exit 122, and a quick 2 miles to the boat launch on the Clinch
River. The beautiful, crystal clear (96% purity) Norris Lake is
nestled between the Cumberland Mountains and the foothills of the
Great Smoky Mountains. Breathtaking views of the surrounding area
offer plenty of photo opportunities so don’t forget to bring your
camera.
The cottage sleeps 6 comfortably. We provide linens for six
people. The updated kitchen is fully equipped with microwave oven,
coffee maker, dishwasher, range, cooking utensils, refrigerator and
even a washer and dryer for your convenience. You need only to
bring your beach towels and sunscreen for the lake. Room
for your boat, up to 18 feet, in our driveway with room for turning,
plus several cars.
The cottage is newly decorated and comfortably furnished, lodge
style, in rich, warm fall colors of reds, browns, orange, yellows
and greens with a fishing theme. A sectional leather sofa with dual
recliners makes it easy to relax after a long day on the lake, in
front of the TV, complete with VCR/DVD player. Video rental is
available nearby.
Later, grill out with your family or friends and watch nature from
the shaded deck complete with patio furniture and a Weber grill.
The deck offers lots of privacy with a view of deep woods in the
back and a border of tall hemlock pines on one side, privacy fence
on the other. Deer often come up into the yard in the late
afternoon. The front yard in completely shaded by tall oak trees
and has stone patio and fishpond with a fountain. There is a
wintertime view of the mountains from here. Several chaise lounge
chairs and a bench offer the chance to sip a cold drink while
listening to trickle of the fountain and the many songbirds, native
to the area.
Norris Lake was formed when the dam was built by the Tennessee
Valley Authority and the Army Corp of Engineers between the Clinch
and Powell Rivers between 1933 and 1936. It has over 800 miles of
shoreline, with over 70% being protected, undeveloped land. The
nearby Chuck Swan Wildlife management area encompasses 24,444 acres.
You can launch your boat free at the beautiful Anderson County Park.
A great playground and a nice shady picnic area with grills overlook
the lake.
You will find three boat docks within an ten-mile radius of the
cottage. The Lighthouse Marina is the closest; just 4 miles away.
The Sequoyah Marina is a full service marina located in a beautiful
cove of the lake. They offer waverunners, pontoons and runabout
rentals and are well known for their famous breakfast and Friday
night’s “wings and Coronas.” The Stardust Boat Dock is very
modern, offering boatslips, rentals, restaurant and a foodmart.
Ample parking for several vehicles and your boat (up to
approximately 18 feet long).
Central air conditioning, modern fully equipped kitchen with cooking
utensils, microwave and Washer/dryer.
TV/VCR/DVD and CD player. A Super Ninentendo game station is
available along with assorted videos, DVD’s and games.
Patio furniture and charcoal grill.
Master bedroom has a queen-size bed. The second bedroom has a full
size bed and a queen size futon. We feel the cottage comfortably
sleeps

Sidewalks surround the community leading into miles of trails in
Norris Dam State Park, perfect for exploring.
Norris Lake – a sportsman’s paradise for boating, skiing, swimming
and fishing. These cold, clean waters offer some of the best
Striper fishing in the United States. Great for Water or jet skiing
and wakeboarding.
The Clinch River is nationally known for catching Rainbow and Brown
trout.
Two state parks, Norris Dam and Big Ridge, and Andersonville County
Park all within a ten mile radius. Several offer hiking and horseback
riding trails and swimming pools. Andersonville has a public boat
ramp and beach with picnic area near the beach.
Sightseeing – Eighteenth Century gristmill in Norris Dam State Park
Museums – Lenoir and the Museum of Applaccia are 2 miles away,
Knoxville Museum
Knoxville – 17 miles away; home to the Neyland Stadium for UT Vols
Football; about a 30 minute drive.
Dollywood, Gatlingburg and the Great Smoky Mountains are just a
little over an hour drive away for outlet malls, theme parks and
shows.
