Josefina's Garden Apartments in Cuernavaca

Casa Josefina offers visitors a variety of living options for both
long-term and short-term rentals. You can choose from a large, private
apartment with kitchen, living/dining room, two bedrooms and two
baths; two studio apartments, each with kitchenette, bath and study
area; or one bedroom with private bath sharing a living room with
your Spanish-speaking host, Juan Ortega-Cuellar. All areas have tile
floors and are light, airy and recently painted. The property is
walled and all rooms and apartments are fully secured. Parking is
available.

Located on a quiet cul de sac in the lovely Pradera district, the
apartments and house are on the bus route and a short five-minute bus
or taxi ride north of Cuernavaca center. Within a ten minute walk
you'll find gourmet food shops, bakeries, restaurants, take-out food
shops, alarge supermarket, dry cleaner, banks, cash machines,
laundromats,Internet cafes, video rentals, pharmacies, grocery and
specialty shops, florists, as well as the wide variety of stores and
services found in any city. Walking distance to several Spanish
language schools including Chac-Mool (1/2 block away), IDEAL (2
blocks), UNINTER (10 min walk)

The property is walled and includes a small, delightful garden with
fruits trees, flowers, orchids, and other plantings. Two patios
provide a place to dine outdoors, or to just sit in the sun or shade
and relax. Highspeed wireless internet access is included in all
rentals at no extra charge. Towels and linens changed and the apartment is cleaned weekly at no extra charge.  Water from bottled water dispenser provided at no extra charge.  Free off-street parking available.

Cuernavaca is known as the city of Eternal Spring and the weather and
wonderful climate show the visitor why. The city is about 90
kilometers west of Mexico City and approximately 5,000 feet above sea
level. Cuernavaca is the perfect place for those escaping the cold
winter months in northern climes or the heat of summer if you live in
the south.

The city hosts a wide variety of many cultural events, art exhibits
and concerts and is home a number of museums, gardens and tourist
attractions, both old and new. The American communty is large and
active and operates a Guild House which sponsors various activites and
has an English-language library. Buses from the Mexico City airport
run every 30 minutes to Cuernavaca center for just over $10 USD. Taxi
pickup can sometimes be arranged by the owner for $80 from airport
direct to the house, and tours to nearby ruins and sites of interest
may also be available.

Below are our standard rates, however, discounts may be negotiable depending on season and/or length of rental.

The White Apartment - The second-floor White Apartment is airy and
large (just under 1200 square feet) with two bedrooms, one with
full size bed and private bath with shower, the other with twin beds
and a bath with shower off the living room. The living room has three
sliding doors for great lighting and ventilation, cable TV,
comfortable couch and chairs, and storage. The connected dining room
has a large table seating ten, as well as a small balcony overlooking
the garden. The kitchen is spacious and includes refrigerator with
freezer, microwave, four-burner stove with oven, toaster oven, ample
counter space and storage, plus the usual array of pots, pans, dishes
and silverware. Rate is $50 USD  per night, $325 USD per week or $1100 USD per month,
including all utilities.

The Bungalo - The Bungalo is a private, ground-floor, 300 square-foot
apartment with large windows fronting the garden and private bath with
shower. It's furnished with desk and chair, reading chair, full size
or two twin bed, dresser and bookshelf as well as cable TV, lamps,
rugs, and afan. A kitchenette includes mini-refrigerator, two-burner
gas stove, toaster oven, microwave, storage areas, plus pots, pans,
dishes and silverware.
The Bungalow rents for $25 USD per night, $150 USD a week or $550 USD monthly.

Vanessa's Studio - Vanessa's Studio apartment on the second floor has
a large sliding door opening onto the patio, and includes one full-
size and one twin bed, private bath with shower, study area with desk
and cable TV, comfortable seating, and fan. Also includes a mini-
fridge and microwave oven. This 300 square-foot studio is quiet and
airy; rent is $23 USD per night, $140 USD a week or $500 USD monthly.

Josefina's - The owner, Josefina, also rents rooms (each with private
bath including shower) in her third-floor flat, when they are
available. Each bedroom has a queen-size bed, study area with desk and
chair, dresser, fan and large windows and includes use of the living
room with television. Rooms, when available, rent for $20-$25 USD per night, $100 to $150 USD per week  or $375 to $550 USD monthly (one or two persons per room).
