vacation rental description

Maine has Frenchman's Bay, Massachusetts has Nantucket Sound, and Maryland has the Chesapeake Bay! Enjoy the ever changing panorama of spectacular sunsets, teeming wildlife, graceful sailboats, and impressive ships from a truly wonderful and historic location, Love Point! Located just 4 1/2 miles north of the Bay Bridge, we are 20 minutes to historic Annapolis, 40 minutes to Baltimore and 50 miles to Washington, DC.

This spacious 3-4BR-2BA fully landscaped ranch home is situated on over 1 1/2 acres of land with 200' of shoreline. There is a dock with ladder for easy access to the bay which is ideal for boating, fishing and swimming because of its shallow waters and smooth, sandy bottom. Afterwards, soap up and rinse off in the wonderful hot/cold OUTDOOR SHOWER!!

The home interior is colorful and comfortable.  A wonderful fireplace is enjoyed in the cooler months of the year when guests can sit by the fireplace and see the water from three large windows facing the bay.  The house has hardwood floors throughout, a cathedral ceiling in the kitchen, family room and several public seating areas - LR, family room, porch, decks. Contemporary fabrics mix happily with antiques and hand painted furniture which the owners have collected on the eastern shore and abroad. There is a new 46" HDTV and piano for the music lovers. The basement is finished in a Spanish style complete with arched doorways and tiled floors. The lighted Trex planked deck with two dining areas, deck chairs and loungers span the back of the house and allow for excellent water views. The adjacent lot provides a volleyball field, privacy and space for our wildlife to roam - birds, bunnies and even a deer or two!

The house sleeps 4-6 people most comfortably, however,  a "dormitory" style room in the basement, works well for groups up to 12 attending weddings or family reunions in the area.  There are 4 twin beds, 2 queen size beds and 1 king bed.  A ping-pong table, toys and games provide entertainment on rainy days. Linens and towels are provided. The kitchen is fully equipped for all your cooking needs providing a dishwasher, microwave, coffee maker, ice maker etc.

Come and enjoy! You will be delighted and refreshed.

Girls Weeknd

Review submitted: December 18, 2013   Date of arrival: November 16, 2013

We decided last minute to go to Kent Island for the weekend and get away from the boys. It was chilly the day we arrived and after making a roaring fire in the family room fireplace we settled right in. The view is awesome and there is a large yard to relax in during the warmer months. We turned on the grill and started the steaks and wine drinking! The kitchen has all the necessary cooking equipment and plates for a nice sit down dinner by the large window overlooking the bay. The family room has plenty of seating to accommodate girl chat and appetizers. The house has 3 bedrooms and a daybed in a sunroom. We had 5 girls there and we all got a bed. There are more beds in the basement for larger parties. With only 2 bathrooms there is some need to be organized in the morning but we had no issues getting ready. We got up, made coffee, continued our talks and managed to shower in time to go to brunch later in the day. We really enjoyed our bloody mary's sitting on the boat dock watching the fog on the bay burn off. In fact, a Bloody Mary takes quite a good picture in the fog!

I plan to come back in the summer so we can enjoy crabs and beer on the back deck. Paula was great to deal with and ensured we had a great stay. I plan to bring my 2 dogs next time and spend some time walking the quiet residential neighborhood. I also plan to use that outdoor shower!

Recommended for: girls getaway, pet-friendly, romantic getaway

Owners response: Many thanks girls for coming to LP. So glad you had fun despite the fog!

The Ultimate Haven

Review submitted: October 26, 2013   Date of arrival: September 27, 2013

Few things bring me joy and relaxation, as when I first walk through the front door of what I like to call Brassfield House. Standing in the large “great room,” with its cathedral ceiling, looking out onto the waters of the Chesapeake Bay, has wondrous effects on me. I open up to the celebration of life! To me, there is nothing more joyful than sitting with a good book, walking peacefully along a lovely landscape, playing the piano, and especially being near and on the water. No sunset is more beautiful with its mix of dramatic colors than when it is reflected on the shimmering waters of the bay. The house itself surrounds me with its peaceful, homey, and fascinating ambience, its spacious rooms, lightness of being, novel décor, and comfortable furnishings. It is always hard to leave such a haven.

The Ultimate,Chesapeake

Review submitted: September 9, 2013   Date of arrival: August 31, 2013

We had a great time. Fishing on the dock was great fun and we still have fish in our freezer. Sailing was great, nearby marina was reasonably priced and welcoming transients (for our 17' sailboat) wind/ weather perfect and the bay ... The bay is perfect. Sunsets from the patio were beautiful/ romantic and kids tired enough after a full day of activities to let us enjoy the sunsets.
The house is big enough for a family of four, much bigger parties will likely create a pressure on the bathrooms. Living/ dining area is great, kitchen adequate (may need some new utensils and pots/pans). Dock is good for fishing but not for boating/ loading unloading ... Castle Harbor marina is 5 miles away and they have a nice pool. Good wind clears up all the bugs and the jellyfish so one can take full advantage of the great outdoors

Recommended for: age 55+, families with young children, families with teenagers, romantic getaway
