vacation rental description
Hale Pomaika'i is a super-clean & comfortable 1-bedroom, 1-bathroom house
which backs up to a forest reserve of native ohia trees and wonderful bird song. On a clear day there is a fantastic view of Mauna Kea, Hawaii's largest volcano.
This is a cozy, relaxing and comfortable house.
The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you'll need to enjoy a meal at home, or you can have a barbecue outside on the lanai.
The Orchid Room has a Queen-size bed with Hawaiian print comforter, ceiling fan, hardwood dresser, and full-sized closet.
Bathroom is equipped with rainhead shower.
The living room has TV, DVD player, stereo/CD player, books and games for your enjoyment. The convertible futon couch has an innerspring mattress for your sitting or sleeping comfort.
At Hale Pomaika'i, we don't just give lip service to sustainability. To do our part in being eco-friendly, there is solar hot water, as well as a solar electric grid-tie system. We are delighted to share with our guests whatever is in season from the edible landscaping, which includes lychee, guava, avocado, pink lemon, calamanci, valencia orange, banana, pineapple, rosemary, oregano, liliko'i, sweet potato, and much more! On the lot next door, we have a small organic farm, where we utilize Korean Natural Farming methods. Our friendly mixed flocks of chickens love to share their healthy farm-fresh eggs, too! Let us know if you'd like a farm tour while you're staying with us.
There are several varieties of palms, native ferns, and lovely tropical flowers scattered throughout the grassy fenced-in property. We've landscaped around the beautiful ohia to preserve these native trees, and to create secluded areas for your enjoyment.
Owner's studio is right next door, but with a completely separate entrance to ensure our guests' privacy.
Come enjoy Hale Pomaika'i, your home of good fortune away from home.
