Vacation Rental Description

'Pretty Penny' is perched high above Stonington Harbor among like 
houses overlooking the ocean. Stonington/Deer Isle is one of the few 
remaining, authentic fishing villages on the Maine coast. The 
population is a mixture of generations of lobsterman and 
rustic artists, photographers and author's from around the world. 
Many have found the beauty of this tiny village impossible to live 
without. 
The New England Style farm house was completely renovated a few 
short years ago and includes some of the finest features to be found 
in a vacation cottage. Everything is top notch. The property 
includes an off site, secluded tidal beach (Maine coast beach) that 
is available for guests to use anytime.
This is the best of both worlds; stay in the cottage only steps from 
harbor side restaurants, bars, gift shops, art galleries and the 
fishing pier......but have your own private beach to escape to.

Vacation Rental Amenities

The house is afforded with everything a person could need including 
a washer and dryer, three TV's, VCR, books and games, small 
stereo/CD player, dishwasher, fully equipped gourmet kitchen, large, 
gated deck overlooking the sea, gas grill, nice back yard for pets, 
trash pick up and really nice neighbors!

Activities and Attractions

Stonington and Deer Isle boast over a dozen hiking and walking 
trails managed by the Island Heritage Trust and the Nature 
Conservancy. There are also Kayak/bike/sailboat rental companies. 
Boat excursions are offered through one, as well as whale watch or 
puffin trips and Eco tours. Stonington is home of the Opera House 
(which is on the National registry of historic sites) where there is 
live theater, movies or events all year long.
Other things to do would be: Beach combing, shopping in over 25 
unique galleries, gift shops, antique shops and museums. Try out the 
many fresh seafood restaurants or buy the famous Stonington smoked 
salmon and ship it home, fish on the public pier, watch the hundreds 
of local lobster boats bring in the catch of the day (we can arrange 
for you to be on a lobster boat for a day), go clamming on the beach 
or mussel picking off the ledges, attend one of the many local 
festivals or sail boat races, or just sit back, relax and enjoy the 
view.
