I have to say I was very skeptical about staying in a neighborhood and in someone's house vs. staying in a known hotel chain. I was on a business trip and my wife and I decided to bring some friends so that she would have some running buddies while I was at work. We slept four adults very comfortably.

I want to state the cons first off, just to get them out of the way. They are few, but just to point them out. One is the stairs, can't be helped, I realize, and its the nature of San Francisco housing, still keep in mind if you have issues with climbing three flights of stairs be aware that this may not be for you. And the only other issue we had was with the Iron. Like I said previously I was on a business trip and needed to press my clothes after being packed in a suitcase. There was a steam iron available, but I could not get it to work. That’s it, pretty minor stuff really.

Now for the pros. This place was awesome, I mean really a house with fully stocked kitchen? Everything was very nice, comfortable beds, claw foot tub/shower, plenty of hot water for 4 people to shower. Even several DVD movies available for those nights when you just want to relax. The bus stop is just two blocks away. Plenty of eateries and shopping within a few blocks. Other than the stairs I have to say this is the most convenient way to travel, and economical too when you consider that you can eat several meals in.

A couple of things to point out that are also, in my opinion, selling points to this property. One the owner is very nice. I had forgotten to print out a pre-paid tour voucher and the owner graciously printed it for me. Two the best Chinese food I have ever eaten is two-three blocks away. Not sure of the name, but it is just past the McDonalds. We ate there twice the week we stayed. And finally, pre-order and have Safeway deliver your groceries. We were able to order everything we needed online, and for $13 they delivered it to us. Hassle-free & groceries were there right on time for about the cost of a cab ride.

All in all I highly recommend this property. We were thoroughly happy with our experience and intend on staying again in the coming months.

Recommended for: families with teenagers, sight seeing, tourists without a car, romantic getaway
