house rental amenities
For anyone who is dying to get away…but not too far away…or if you have friends and family who’d like a taste of old Florida, we have just the place: a tiny cottage in the historic Village of Longboat Key. Walk out the French doors to the private deck or, better yet, walk a block to one of the area's oldest waterfront restaurants, Mar Vista, and have a mango daiquiri and one of the best burgers in Southwest Florida. The bay, public dock and boat launch are just a block away, or take a five-minute stroll to wide and empty Whitney Beach.
activities and attractions in Longboat Key Gulf Coast Central
The Longboat Key Art Center is located just two blocks away in the
village. Anna Maria Island with all its restaurants and beach shops
is just over the bridge, only a few minute's drive north. Heading
south on Longboat Key, just over the New Pass Bridge is Mote Marine
Laboratory with its aquariums full of sharks, manatees, seahorses
and world-class research. St. Armands Circle and its upscale
shopping and dining are just around the bend. Lido Beach is walking
distance from the circle. Only two miles from St. Armands is the
cultural city of Sarasota with its theaters, opera, symphony,
museums and art galleries, and, if you time it right, Baltimore Orioles spring training. (The Pirates train in nearby Bradenton.)
