Diamond Days -Dazzling Unit at Belle Mer* in Navarre Beach

Unexpected trouble in an otherwise great condo...

Great condo! Our family rented three condos in this building for a week. We were a bit skeptical about renting in a high-rise building, as we have been renting houses on the gulf in Navarre Beach for many years. We had family in two other condos so we went with it anyway. We were all surprised by how much we actually liked being in the building. The condo itself is beautiful! It's on a higher floor than most, so the first thing you see is ocean, and it makes a very good first impression. The kitchen is very nice and well equipped and the furnishings were nicer than what we saw in the other family condos. I will suggest that you bring extra pillows and blankets if you are a cozy sleeper, as the bedspreads are not so snuggly, but they look nice. It also has directv so my kids knew where to find their cartoons when it was time to settle in at night...and my husband could find his soccer matches.
Now for the not so great- Upon arrival, we found the master bedroom had saturated carpet in the vanity and closet area. After many calls and maintenance men and realtor conversations, they finally found that the water heater was busted and was continually leaking into the master bedroom and bathroom. After establishing that there was a major problem, we were given options. I was insistent that we stay in the building as we wanted to enjoy our vacation with our family, and no one rents a beachfront condo and then wants to drive down the street to go to the beach. Try as they may, they were simply unable to find a unit that was available at Belle Mer. As a last effort, they offered us a bigger place down the street and we reluctantly moved. This was on day 3 and we couldn't see losing any more vacation time to repairs.
Bottom line- Julie and her team took very good care of us. She tried everything possible to make sure that we had a great place and could get on with our vacation without another hitch. If everything with the water and subsequent mildew is repaired, we would absolutely stay here again, and would recommend it to others.

Recommended for: age 55+, families with young children, families with teenagers, girls getaway, romantic getaway
