vacation rental description
Sea Pastures is a twelve acre property on the island of Vinalhaven, off the coast of Maine.
Vinalhaven is a small (1,500 population) working island that is the largest lobster port on the
eastern seaboard. About three miles from the island's only town, Carver's Harbor, Sea
Pastures sits on a peninsula and is surrounded on all sides by water. Brimstone and Isle au
Haut are visible from the house, while open fields stretch down to the water. The path to the
dock winds through a pine forest, and the shoreline that surrounds the property has both
boulders and pebbled beach. The house is an old farm house that rambles upstairs and
down. There are two porches: one on the front and a screened one in the back. The large
eat-in kitchen with views of Arey Cove is one center of the house; the other is the spacious
living room that looks out on Isle au Haut.
