Vacation Rental Description

If you're looking for a quiet retreat away from cellphones and jet 
skis, our vaction home is for you.  It took three summers and three 
generations of extended family (ages 11-77) to build our home, and 
we are eager to share it with our guests.  Located about 1 1/4 miles 
down a well-maintained dirt road, the home sits about 75 yards back 
from the lake in a wooded area, surrounded by lawn.  There is a 
filtered view of the lake through the trees, especially at sunset.  
It's a short walk to our private waterfront area, where there is a 
screen room and dock for your convenience and comfort.  Some other 
features of the property include: 


* post-and-beam construction
* two bedrooms plus sleeping loft for up to 8 people
* queen bed in downstairs bedroom; two twins in upstairs bedroom
* loft includes two twin beds and a queen sofa bed with lots of 
space to spread out
* two bathrooms, one with tub/shower and one with shower
* large screened porch 
* four private acres with mountain-fed stream running through
* private frontage on Kimball Lake
* shared tennis courts(not exactly Wimbledon, but pretty good for 
the woods) 
* two Old Town canoes with paddles



   

Vacation Rental Amenities

Birch Hill was built in the spirit of the tradtional Maine "camp" 
but there is nothing rustic about our home.  It is furnished and 
equipped with our guests' comfort in mind, including:

* fully-applianced kitchen including dishwasher, microwave, coffee-
maker, toaster, blender, and wafflemaker
* washer, dryer, and clothesline 
* comfortable radiant floor heating
* propane stove for heat and ambience
* DVD player and VCR 
* wireless Internet for use with your laptop
* Note:  There is no commercial television reception
* CD player
* gas grill
* picnic table
* ceiling fans
* books, board games, puzzles
* abundant peace and quiet

Activities and Attractions

Our camp gives you access and close proximity to all that Maine's 
Western Lakes Region and New Hampshire's Mount Washington Valley 
have to offer.  You can do as much or as little as you like!  Our 
collection of brochures, maps, and menus will acquaint you with the 
area.  Here's a sampling:  

canoeing on Kimball or Saco River / kayaking / swimming / fishing / 
tennis / hiking / biking / wildlife / shopping in North Conway 
(outlets galore) and Bridgton / movies / restaurants / scenic 
railway / reading / relaxing / listening to the loons / Fryeburg 
Fair / foliage / cross country skiing / snow mobiling / downhill 
skiing at Shawnee Peak, Mount Cranmore, Sunday River, and numerous 
New Hampshire resorts / ice fishing


   

Vacation Rental Rates

Our rates for 2008 are as follows:
May = $750/week*
June = $800/week*
July - August  $1100/week*
September - October = $800/week*
November - $750/week*
Fryeburg Fair Week = $175/night; 3-night min.

Please inquire about housecleaning and weekend rentals off season.

*NOTE:  As of November 2005, the State of Maine requires a 7% tax on 
short-term vacation rentals.  This tax will be added to the final 
bill.

Our home is a non-smoking property.

We do not allow pets.
