There are several places to hunt for antiques and other treasures as well. Stop by the Seafoam Woodturning Studio. Here the owner works with a variety of fine woods molding the beauty that nature has created. You can rest assured that this beauty is not hidden by poor craftsmanship. Places of interest include the Balmoral Grist Mill Museum. which is located in a wooded gorge near Tatamagouche. Visitors to the museum can see how the mill grinds oats, wheat and buckwheat. Wooden gearing, shafts and pulleys still drive the millstones, bucket elevator, hoist, sifters and other machinery. Another point of interest is the Sutherland Steam Mill Museum. One must stop at the award winning Jost Winery at Malagash where visitors are welcome year round to its winery store and vineyards. Here your game will experience a real oceanside test. There is also a driving range if you like to sharpen up. In New Glasgow there is the Abercrombie Golf Club. Originally built as a nine-hole course in 1919, Abercrombie has progressed over its eighty years to one of Nova Scotia's best tests of golf. When it was expanded to an eighteen-hole layout the new holes were cut completely out of a beautiful wooded landscape.
