vacation rental description

Tranquil Surroundings in a prestigeous nationally and locally designated historic district - Old Seminole Heights . 'Erehwon Retreat.' is the perfect stay. You fill find exacting standards with a clear focus on the 1923 Craftsman Cottage (490 sq. feet). My mind is a very busy place, so I planned the property and your cottage that is not. This translates to a very peaceful visit. Everything is beautifully arranged; colorful, subtle, and uplifting. The cottage and neighborhood is perfect for a get-away.

You have easy access to the city attractions including museums (3 miles) and restaurants, Yankee spring training. Tampa Ship Terminal (5 miles) and the Tampa Convention Center (7 miles), as well as Central Florida tourist interests (10 minutes to Busch Gardens, 30 mins to Bok Tower Gardens or Ft. Desoto Beach, 75 mins to Sarasota, 90 to Disney or Winter Park), 2 hours to Cape Canaveral.

Our Cottage: We are your refuge, an area for bird watchers, nature lovers, beach days and Central Florida's famous fresh water blue holes. It's a pleasant throwback to where people grew up, knew their neighbors, sat on their front porch and everybody talked to everybody else. Come, stay awhile and enjoy.

Pack Light: We have a coffee bean grinder, French Press pot in the event you don't want to take a four block walk to Starbucks. Pur water filter at kitchen sink and check out the sundries page on ErehwonRetreat.com website for all that comes with the cottage. You'll find everything from spices to maple syrup, toaster, pots and pans and pot holders, plus orange juice, half and half cream, milk and cereal to get you started, Publix is just a four blocks away for grocery needs. Our turnover day is Sunday, timed for the convenient arrival of cruise ships - Carnival Legend, Norwegian Cruise Line Dawn, and the Ryndam.

Cottage in the City

Review submitted: April 1, 2014   Date of arrival: March 23, 2014

Very enjoyable and comfortable stay in the heart of one of Tampa Bay's Historic Districts. This three room bungalow cottage was a comfortable reminder of "home" with comfy Queen bed, a well stocked kitchen, and a sitting room complete with a fine selection of Dvd's, magazines, and other reading material. The neighbor hood is a delightful step back to the post depression when the bungalows were originally built, and these restored homes reflect the hard work of neighborhood home owners to bring back these unique dwellings to their historical past. Henry is a wonderful conversationalist and a helpful guide to the Tampa Bay area's tourist community.

Great Place - following our Cruise

Review submitted: February 16, 2014   Date of arrival: February 9, 2014

Wonderful. Great value. We enjoyed walking the "historic" area in the mornings and always felt safe. The service, including the perks of free laundry and room service (housekeeper) was excellent. We also appreciated the condiments in the refrigerator and "pantry".
