is the perfect lakefront vacation rental for any family vacation. A vacation "Best Buy on Keuka

Street Parking, and a beautiful level lot.
Keuka Lake is one of the most beautiful glacier made lakes in the United States.
Keuka Lake is shaped like the letter "Y" and is widely believed to be
the most beautiful of the Eleven Finger Lakes. Keuka Lake is 19 miles long
and half a mile wide in most places, and nearly 200 feet deep.
It is crystal clear and is a great swimming, fishing, and boating lake.
Visitors come from the world over to vacation on Keuka Lake and
enjoy Finger Lakes hospitality. Most notable about our area is the
internationally renowned New York State wineries on Keuka and Seneca
Lakes. Dr. Frank's, and Heron Hill are only two of the many Keuka
Lake wineries that are now known around the world. Other Keuka Lake
Wineries include: Barrington Cellars, Hunt Country Vineyars, Keuka
Overlook, Keuka Spring, McGregor, Rooster Hill, Ravines and Yates
Cellars. Visit the Keuka Lake Wine Trail website for more
information. The Seneca Lake Wine trail is only minutes from the
house as well.
Keuka Lake is also host to a wide number of lake front restaurants
that you can boat to, tie up and enjoy a glass of wine, have lunch
or dinner, and continue on your way!
The Thomas Wood Cottage is a popular lodging choice for family and
friends attending weddings at Keuka College. The house is a one
minute walk from Norton Chapel.

In the Summer, Central Air Conditioning is just the beginning -
Washer and Dryer, dishwasher, disposal, and micro-wave are here for
your vacation ease. The house was newly constructed in 2003 and
has the amenities designed to pamper your family and guests!
If your taste in a vacation house is more to the modern
and less to the rustic this is the house for you!
In the Fall, the Keuka & Seneca Lake Wine Trails beckon! The
beautiful fall colors on the trees, trips to the apple orchard, The
windmill farm and craft market,and leisurely walks in the crisp fall
air.
In the winter, our new gas forced air heating system will keep you
toasty warm. Enjoy snow tubing on Keuka College's awesome hill. It
is truly fun for kids of all ages! Try some hot wine or cider on the
Keuka or Seneca Wine Trails.
In the Spring, Keuka Lake comes to life. The grass and flowers
bloom. The birds return with the songs that make time on the
lakefront such a joy. The anticipation of summer is just around the
corner. Fairs, parades, chicken barbques and fireworks all to come!
Other important amenities -
The house Lakefront - The beach is what it is all about! The house
has 40 foot private beach. The shoreline is natural beach that is a
slow gradual drop off and an ideal venue for children and adults
alike.
Grill - the house is equipped with a charcoal grill for guest use.
There is ample room to have a campfire down on the private beach.
There is a small one lane road that separates the house and from
beach. This is an ideal place for a walk and to enjoy lakefront
water fowl. It is not uncommon to see Great Blue Heron early in the
morning.
Bedrooms- The house has three Bedrooms plus a sofa sleeper in the
living room.
The Master bedroom has a queen-sized bed with sliding glass doors
that go out to a second floor balcony and a breathtaking view of
Keuka Lake.
The Second Bedroom has a full-sized(Double-Bed) bed and also has
sliding glass door with a beautiful direct view of Keuka Lake. You
are close enough to the water to watch birds adn water fowl and hear
the water lap against the shore. If you are a bird watcher it is not
uncommon to see Great Blue Heron in the morning.
The Third Bedroom has a splendid side view of the lake through pine
trees and has two Twin beds. The twin beds can also be pushed
together to make a king-sized bed. All bedrooms have a dresser,
pillows, blankets.
Additional sleeping accomodations - The sofa in the living also has
queen-sized sofa bed. One of the most comfortable sofa sleepers we
have ever found!
Bathrooms - There is a full bath on the second floor that has been
completely remodeled. It has twins sinks, extra large shower. It is
clean, bright and comfortable. There is also half bathroom on the
main floor just off the lving room.
Central Air - No lake front house should be without central air
conditioning. On those sunny summer afternoons when you get too hot
come into the house and enjoy the comfort of central air.
Dining Room - The dining room has a large table with two inserts and
eight chairs. Dining room and dining table comfortably seat 8 adults.
Entertainment Center - The house is equipped with flat screen TV,
cable and DVD player.
Parking - The house has off street parking for Four cars at the rear
of the house. Parking area is a level walk to the the rear door of
the house - no stairs to climb.
Basketball Hoop - the paved parking area behind the house also has
an in ground basketball setup.
Level access to the House - There are no stairs from the parking
area to the house. A paved level off-street parking area and paved
side walk take you right to the back door of the house. This
provides great access to the house if you have a member of your
group with a mobility limitation.
Washer and Dryer. The house is equipped with a washer and dryer just
in case you want to wash a few clothes before you head home.
Kitchen - Kitchen is equipped with Dishwasher, Stove, oven,
microwave, disposal, and everything you will need while you are
here. Dishes, flatware, wine glasses, pots and pans.
The house has city sewer and water. No fussy or unreliable septic
system to worry about here. Nothing but 100% reliable city utilities.
College Beach also near by - In addition to the private beach that
comes with the house, Keuka College also has it's beach a short walk
from the house. They have a red cross certified life guard on duty
on a daily basis over the summer.
Activities and Attractions
The Thomas Wood Cottage is also the closest vacation rental to the
amazingly beautiful campus of Keuka College. The College has 8
outdoor tennis courts within walking distance of the house. The
College has a fitness center a short walk from the house and
available to Thomas Wood Cottage guests for a modest daily use fee.
Daily fee provides access to fitness center, in-door swimming pool,
and weight room. Internet access is also available at the College
library. The College Waterfront is a delightful place to spend time
to fish, swim, and relax as well. The College waterfront is a two
minute walk from the house. There is a life guard on duty if you
want a Red Cross certified life guard to watch your kids as they swim
(Summer only).
Golf - If you like to golf there is an abundance of world class golf
courses with in a 30 minute drive of the house. The nearest course,
Lakeview Country Club in Penn Yan, is five minutes away.
Boat Rentals - Area marina's provide rentals of every imaginable
boat rental - jet skis, sailboats, kayaks, canoes, ski boats and
pontoon boats.
Antiques - The fingers Lakes recreational region is home to a
limitless number of great antique shops.
Unique attractions - attractions within a short drive include
Watkins Glen International Speedway, Corning Museum of Glass, Ithaca
Farmers Market, Johnson Art Museum, and the world famous Lab of
Ornithology in Sapsucker Woods. Other area attractions include The
Museum of the Earth, Ithaca Science Center, Windmill craft
Market,and the Glen Curtiss Avaition Museum. Keuka lake also has a
great go-kart track and the best ice cream shops in New York state!
Churches - The Keuka Lake region hosts a wide range of churches and
houses of worship if you want to be able to attend religious
services while on vacation.
