HOUSE: Large open upstairs living room/kitchen with eating area, 3
bedrooms, with one queen size bed and four twin beds; sleeps six
comfortably. Two and a half baths. Fully furnished, kitchen
with modern appliances, microwave, cookware, dishes. DVD player,
VCR; some movies, board games, reading material provided. Washer and
dryer and central air conditioning.

Large, two-level deck with picnic table and charcoal grill; great
for sunbathing, reading, and relaxing.

Three modern and very stable, easy to paddle kayaks (suitable for
anyone, no paddling experience is necessary) with paddles and life
jackets are available for quests at the house.

Enjoy the waterfront views of Neale Sound on one side, the Potomac
River on the other, from the pier and house. Private location on
sheltered inlet (Neale Sound), which connects to the open waters of
the Potomac River (5 miles wide at this point) about ½ mile away.
Fishing, crabbing, boating, from the pier. Three easy-to-paddle,
stable kayaks are provided for guests, including paddles, life
jackets, etc. Guests can paddle in the protected waters of Neale
Sound, for bird watching, fishing, swimming, or exploring
beaches. Crab traps and fishing poles provided for guests. Boat
rentals are available at the local marina in Cobb Island.
Neighborhood: Excellent seafood restaurants and a grocery store
within 3 miles (on Cobb Island), larger grocery stores and a number
of restaurants in LaPlata or on the Virginia side of the Harry W.
Nice brige. Award-winning Swan Point golf course is located less
than 2 miles away.
Tourist Attractions: Many tourist attractions within driving
distance, including one hour to all the following: U.S. Capitol and
Museums, Old Town Alexandria, VA, Potomac Mills Shopping Mall, Mt.
Vernon (George Washington's Home). Within 30 minutes drive or less
are St. Mary’s colonial settlement, First landing State Park at
Colton’s Point and St. Clement’s Island, Fredericksburg (Antiques
and Civil War battlefields), Budds Creek Raceways, Robert E. Lee and
George Washington birthplaces, Westmoreland Berry Farm, Westmoreland
State Park and New Caledon Nature Area in Virgina, Solomon’s Island
Museum, and many State Parks and waterfront nature areas in Charles
County and Calvert County Maryland. 1.5 hours to Annapolis and to
Richmond VA. »2.5 hours to Colonial Williamsburg, Jamestown,
Yorktown, Busch Gardens, Luray.
