activities and attractions in Mount Rainier Washington
Route 12, Washington's White Pass Scenic Byway is a
veritable smorgasbord of brown recreation signs where you can satisfy
your desires every season of the year with fishing, boating, wind
surfing, swimming, skiing (cross country and downhill), snowboarding,
snowmobiling, hiking, horseback riding, and much, much more.
This vacation rental is ideal for hunters that want the enjoyment of
the outdoors without the discomforts of "roughing it", and a pleasant
place for their wives who might prefer more casual activities
including antique stores and a trip to the Butter Butte Coffee Company
where they roast their own beans.
For the more spiritually minded, this is a great place to retreat for
a time of solitude and reflection.
The Mt. Rainier and Tatoosh wilderness areas are accessed directly
from the city of Packwood and you can explore numerous hiking trails
with varying degrees of difficulty.
Take an easy day trip to Windy Ridge, touted as the best view of the
crater on Mount Saint Helens, or a shorter drive to the Ohanapecosh
visitor center and a .4 mile hot springs hike or the longer Silver
Fall hike of 1.2 miles (one way).
White Pass ski area is 18 miles east of the cabin and accessible year
round. The Cayuse and Chinook ski areas are also accessible, weather
permitting.
