This residence (2000 sq ft ) was completely and tastefully restored
in 2003, by noted Southern CA Architect Eric Charles Parlee. Located
3 short blocks to Santa Monica Beach this furnished unit comfortably
sleeps up to 6 people.In the center of trendy Ocean Park which
boasts many upscale Boutiques and Restaurants. Walk to Urth Cafe and
Yoga Works.
The home is just 20 minutes from LAX, 60 minutes to Disneyland and
Knotts Berry Farm. It is 30 minutes to Universal Studios, Beverly
Hills, and Hollywood. The world-famous Santa Monica Pier is but a 10
minute walk.This unit has 2 bedrooms. The Master Suite has a King
size bed, gas fireplace, television and French doors overlooking the
gardens bringing the outside in. Relax in the Master bath complete
with a spa tub for two and asteam shower for two.The other bedroom
has bunk beds for 2. The living room has gas fireplace, a 32" Flat
Screen HDTV and CD/DVD player. The dining room seats 6. The Mezzanine
Office is another room in the house ideal for work or play. Any cook
would enjoy the top of the line appliances in the kitchen, including
a Viking gas stove & Viking refrigerator, a microwave and Miele
dishwasher. The home has a Wireless DSL Internet connection. Enjoy an
evening of Barbecuing watching colorful sunsets from the rooftop deck
with a peek-a-boo ocean view.

Wireless DSL Internet access. 2 TV's. 1 is a HD Flat Screen with a
DVD/CD player, Washer and Dryer.Fully furnished kitchen w/Viking
Stove, Viking Refrigerator, Microwave and Dishwasher. All Towels

livingroom. Parking for 2 cars including 1 guest parking pass for the
street.House cleaning every 2 weeks ($125) and landscaping done every
week.

"Honestly, I can only give John McCormack's house the highest
recommendation. It is a beautiful, spacious, airy, sun-filled,
elegantly-designed-yet-totally-comfortable house with a lovely garden
and charm galore. The architectural work of art--the master bedroom
and bath--is absolutely luxurious. There's a soaking (jacuzzi) tub
and a large shower that also has a steam room setting. The gas
fireplaces in the living room and master bedroom add so much
cozy feeling to the place.. I roll out of bed for a 6am yoga class
(at a terrific studio btw, (yogaworks) a half a blockaway, the
hip/organic people-watching hot spot, Urth Cafe is literally on the
corner, a raw food restaurant and Peet's Coffee (so much better than
Starbuck's!) are all within steps of the house, as well as lots of
littleshops, a bodega-like grocery store, a tiny little gelato place
AND a Ben and Jerry's. There's a neighborhood farmer's market every
Sunday morning, which is also a happenin' event, as well as the
historic little library nearby, which is sweet and terribly
convenient. There's also the surf and skateboard shops/scene to round
it allout and keep the neighborhood authentic (this is the
original "Dogtown" after all)."But the best thing about being at
John's house, I think, is that although it is truly right at the
beach, it isn't hostage to the incessantly-loud, nonstop party vibe
that the more famous nearby Venice Beach is known for. The fact that
the house is tucked away on a one-way street behind a busier, more
commercial avenue (Main Street),�means that it's really quiet and
sanctuary-like. When you want all the stimulation of the "city" life
or the endless summer scene of the beach, it's right there in front
of you, with a great bike/running/'walking path, volleyball,
basketball and chess games, and the totally entertaining "muscle
beach" crowd, but then when you just want to be away from it all,
nestled in, you've got John's lovely oasis to come back to, the place
which you definitely begin tocall "home" during your stay.
