Excellent cabin

Review submitted: July 4, 2014   Date of arrival: June 16, 2014

Our family stayed at the cabin and this was the best vacation we have ever had! The cabin is spotless and just like home. Barbara has it stocked with everything you will need. The mornings are very cool and there are wild turkeys everywhere. We loved taking the canoe out on Lake Lure. The waterfall at Chimney Rock was the best. We took a short drive to the NC Arboretum. It was so nice to come back to the cabin after all of our adventures! We will definitely come back!

Back for another wonderful week

Review submitted: June 8, 2014   Date of arrival: June 1, 2014

Another wonderful week in this marvelous cabin. Barbara and Tony makes you feel like part of the family and we have grown to love going there each year. There is no place more like home than this little cabin. Our "Fur-babies" love going with us and that makes it special.

Recommended for: age 55+, families with teenagers, pet-friendly, sight seeing, romantic getaway

Owners response: We are so fortunate to have the best renters !!! We are putting in a gas fireplace for the winter months. So nice to sit in front of a fire.

Amazing Getaway!

Review submitted: May 2, 2014   Date of arrival: October 21, 2013

We absolutely loved this place. It was 2 of us so there was more than enough room. It was a perfect getaway after a long, hard year. We spent time on the screened in back porch with the sound of the small stream and I cooked us a few meals out of the crockpot cookbook that was provided at the home. I agree with the previous commenters that the pictures do not do the home justice.

We arrived pretty late in the night and the owner was so friendly about meeting us at the home with the keys. The next day we headed north into Black Mountain to grab lunch and came across the Artisan Gourmet Market. We picked up a couple of different meats and fresh milk (in a glass jar!). We loved this place and came back a few days later for more milk :) We also went south and stopped along the roadside and picked up some delicious cabbage and apple cider.

We came during at the start of the fall foliage and loved every minute of our time spent at the cabin as well as driving the windy, windy roads.

And the price cannot be beat!! I work in vacation rentals for a gulf coast town in Texas and for what I paid for 4 nights here wont even get you a night in a comparable home where I live. If you are thinking about staying here, Stay Here!

Recommended for: age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, pet-friendly, sight seeing, romantic getaway

Owners response: Thank you so much. We treat our guests like we would want to be treated. There is so much to do around this area. Lots of places to visit and day trips. We are going to put in a Gas Fireplace by fall so make your plans to come now!!
