The Basics: Our association requires a minimum 1-month rental period and no pets - sorry.
The Racquet Club of Vero is at 3939 Ocean Drive in Vero Beach, "Where the Tropics begin". It is
located on picturesque Orchid Island, part of the string of barrier islands that run up and down
Florida's Atlantic coast, with the Atlantic Ocean on one side and the inland waterway, or
the "Intracoastal Waterway" (the "ICW"), on the other. In our area, we call the waterway the
Indian River Lagoon, and it separates our barrier island from the Vero Beach mainland.
The Racquet Club is a pleasant, small condominium community that consists of just over one-hundred
residences in three low-rise buildings on The Boardwalk at Conn Beach. All units look out to the
Atlantic Ocean.
Grass and Palm trees; beautiful sunrises; sleeping to the lullaby of gently breaking ocean waves
with the fresh smell of salt air off the beautiful, broad Atlantic Ocean; a lovely sandy beach that
stretches for miles in both directions. This is what Vero Beach, is all about. This is the heart of
Florida's famous "Treasure Coast".
The "Treasure Coast" derives its name from the wreck on our shores in 1715 of a flotilla of
Spanish treasure ships sailing from Cuba to Spain. Beachcombers still find the odd gold doubloon in
the sands of our barrier island beaches.
But we are not on some remote island. We are centrally located on the east coast of Florida, within
easy reach by airplane or motor vehicle. We just seem far away while you're here, because we still
have small-town charm, and strangers will greet you with a pleasant smile and a sincere hello.
Nearby airports: Melbourne (MLB-45min), Palm Beach (PBI-1hr:30), Orlando (MCO-1hr-45), Miami
International (MIA-3hr). Private aircraft come in to Vero Beach Municipal Airport, built during
World War II as a US Navy dive-bomber training facility.
For a small extra charge ($150 - $250), we will arrange to have our visitors met and professionally
chauffeured from Miami International (MIA), Fort Lauderdale (FLL), West Palm Beach (PBI), Orlando
(MCO) or Melbourne (MLB) Airports. You will, however, want your own car or a rental vehicle while
you are with us in Vero Beach.
Most Racquet Club residents are owners, with maybe 15% of the units rented to others. It is a very
stable, mature community; it imposes no age restrictions, but it does not allow pets (sorry).
Vacation Rental Amenities
The Racquet Club complex boasts a heated Pool and three well-maintained Tennis Courts; a Club House
with Social Areas, Exercise Room, two Saunas, a Library, Billiards and Pool; and many other
amenities.
We provide sheltered parking under our buildings, out of the sun.
Other amenities include the clear, refreshing Atlantic Ocean; our sandy Beaches; the Boardwalk; Eat-
in Kitchen; Master Bedroom Suite with King-size bed and 1,000-thread-count sheets; a Guest Bedroom
with Twin Beds (Double or Queen available at extra charge) and its own bath; we provide ample linens.
We provide a clothes Washer and Dryer in the unit.
The Eat-in Kitchen is fully stocked with all expected appliances, china and glassware, and all
requisite pots, pans and utensils. We'll even lay in a welcoming quantity of our world famous
Indian River citrus juices to help awaken you on your first morning with us.
Activities and Attractions
Vero Beach is on Florida's East Coast, between Cape Canaveral and Miami, on the beautiful Atlantic
Ocean shoreline.
Boat rentals and Charter Fishing facilities are within a mile of The Racquet Club; sandy-beach
swimming is right in front of us; Fine Dining and world-class Golf are nearby in public, private and
semi-private facilities. Of course, the Racquet Club has its own excellent Tennis Courts, but other
wonderful Tennis facilities are within walking distance.
We are a mere 10-minute drive to the Dodgers' Spring Training and minor league facilities, Holman
Stadium. You can really watch big league teams play professional baseball right here in Vero Beach!
Our area is well-known for its fabulous Fishing (Guides are eager to assist you):
Offshore, in the Atlantic Ocean
Inshore, right off the beach and over our inshore reefs
Lagoon and mangrove fishing in the Indian River Lagoon
Freshwater in and around the ancient Blue Cypress Lake
Vero Beach offers excellent Surfing at Sebastian Inlet State Park; Kayaking; short and extended
Nature Walks; Air Boating in inland Swamps; professional Theater and both professional and amateur
Recitals and Concerts; local Museums; and we are fortunate to be in close proximity to such world-
famous attractions as Disney World, Sea World, and other Orlando sites, including Universal Studios.
The drive to Orlando is 1hr:45min.
Kennedy Space Center is 1hr:10min; car racing at Daytona and Sebring are not far, and neither is
horse racing at Gulfstream Park and Hialeah. The Hard Rock Casino is about 1hr:30min; and, while we
have excellent shopping in Vero's own Ocean Drive boutiques, we are 1hr:25min away from Palm Beach's
malls and the renowned Worth Avenue.
The Racquet Club Association and its residents also initiate and support many planned and
spontaneous social activities.
Please tell us your special interests, and we'll tell you whether our area can meet them. We want
you to be happy here, and we want you to return year after year.
Vacation Rental Rates
Our Association requires a Minimum One-Month Rental Period.
Winter Rates: $3,900/month (Jan, Feb, Mar); two consecutive Winter months at 3,450/month; or all
three Winter months at $3,000/month.
Off-season: $2,800/month (all other months)
We welcome your Annual Lease at $2,100 per month (F,L,S).
Rents include Club facilities, covered parking, utilities (Cable, local phone, elec, water, trash).
We will deduct long-distance phone charges, if any, at actual usage amounts from a $1,250 Security
Deposit that is payable upon Lease signing.
Full rent and 11% FL and local tax due 30 days prior to occupancy (Not for Annual Lease).
The Racquet Club community and this unit are strictly no-smoking, no-pets accommodations.
PLEASE APPLY EARLY, as all tenant applications must go before our Racquet Club board for
rental/lease acceptance.
