Vacation Rental Description

Casa Clara is a very private Pacific beachfront compound consisting  
of a main house, with stand-alone bedroom bungalows, all in the  
Coastal Vallarta style.  
 
It is situated in a beautiful mature tropical garden containing well  
over 100 large palms and hundreds of other smaller palms, flowering  
trees and shrubs. Everthing about it - warm colors, soft textures,  
balanced scale/volumes, and natural/earthy materials - is in harmony  
with its fabulous coastal setting. 
 
Facing south overlooking Banderas Bay, the main 2 story house has  
its principal rooms - living room, dining room, kitchen, outdoor  
eating/BBQ area, office and media room - all on the main level  
facing a garden.  
 
Landscaped for greatest privacy from walkers on the beach, there is  
a 10-12ft high embankment heavily planted with beautiful prickly  
succulents, with access provided to Ranchos beach down a few stone  
steps.  
 
On the 2nd story of the main house, there is a large 5 room master  
bedroom suite - 'Oro' - which is used by the owners when in  
residence. It features 2 terraces with fabulous views, a sitting  
room with copper mantled fireplace and TV, a second office, and  
large ensuite with cast iron bath tub. 
 
On the same upper level, connected by a palapa covered bar and  
casual living area, there is a large infinity pool with the overflow  
water blending into the sea beyond. Surrounding the pool, with 8-10  
lounge chairs on an umbrella protected wooden deck, is a Mexican  
marble terrace connecting two bungalows, each containing a master  
bedroom suite. 'Azul' and 'Verde', are separated by a garden and  
fountain, and both have pergola covered terraces. 
 
Surrounded by gardens, a stand-alone guest bungalow - 'Casita  
Christina' - contains 2 separate bedroom suites [ 'Naranja'  
and 'Amarillo'], each with 2 queen beds, private terraces and 3 room  
ensuite - shower/sink, WC, and extra sink. Naranja and Amarillo are  
designed for a crowd, or for those who want privacy from the main  
house, and it comes with its own fully equipped kitchenette and  
covered casual dining area. 
 
Separated by gardens and a desert oasis, the on-site manager and  
staff are accommodated in the gatehouse bungalow which also includes  
the garage and parking area.

Vacation Rental Amenities

Kitchen and Dining. With Viking appliances, walk-in cold room and  
solid wood cabinetry, the kitchen, although designed for the family  
that gets involved in cooking, has a back scullery so that the staff  
can discreetly work out of sight. The outdoor BBQ and outdoor eating  
area are pergola covered and integral to the kitchen/dinning room  
layout. Maximum sit-down dinner accommodation is 10 at the round  
copper covered DR table and 12 more under the pergola. From the  
tables and kitchen island, there are great views of the sea, the  
islands and Sierra Madre mountains beyond to the south and west.  
 
Living Rooms. The warm, quiet and cozy media room comes with a log  
beamed ceiling, tropical hardwood floor, fine French-rubbed built-in  
cabinetry, comfy sofas, copper mantled fireplace and largest SONY  
LCD TV available. Overlooking the beach-front garden, and with water  
gurgling in the adjacent fountain, the main living room has a high  
sloped wood beamed ceiling along with a sea view like the dining  
room next to it.  
 
Palapa bar and lounge area. The main entrance from the fountain  
centered 'Glorietta' [courtyard and turning circle] is through  
impressive copper doors, which open through a palapa, covered  
sitting area and full sized bar onto the pool deck and the  
spectacular sea view beyond. A spa - next to the heated pool - can  
be quickly heated up to enjoy sunsets and the amazing privacy of the  
palapa pool area.  
 
The Five bedroom suites, all with 15ft high ceilings, ceiling fans,  
individual air con, indoor/outdoor showers, and fabulously thick  
shuttered doors/windows, can all be opened to nature onto separate  
sitting/sunning terraces. Accommodating 10 comfortably with distinct  
suites per couple, there are beds for up to 14 when doubled up in  
the guest bungalow, Casita Christina.  
 
Furnishings and accessories are by Mexican craftsmen, artisans and  
artists. Lots of old and current folk art, along with recognized  
works of art. Wooden shutters and natural marbles/granites  
throughout are by the top master craftsmen in coastal Vallarta.  
 
Bring your laptop computer and your ipod. There's wireless hi-speed  
internet throughout most of the main areas, plus the internet is  
accessed by the desktop computer provided in the office. Two  
integrated Bose audio systems are wired throughout main house and  
palapa pool area. The bungalows have ipod systems for private  
listening. Satellite TV. Safes are in 3 bedrooms.  
 
Sundowner time and Moonlit nights. Sunset views overlook the sea  
from the palapa/pool is and all of the rooms save the media room and  
casita, as well as from the beach-front garden area. Spectacular  
moonlit nights with subtle artificial lighting of the palms  
reflecting off the pool is yours to enjoy in the tropical evenings.  
 
Yoga deck, hammock area and private upper beach in the beach-front  
garden. The gardens of Casa Clara and roadways of Ranchos Estates  
are a birders paradise. And there’s lots of action out to sea from  
fishes,seabirds and whales. Four mountain bikes, table tennis, and 3  
kayaks [one double] available on site. Other activities available  
since Ranchos Estate is part of the larger Punta Mita development  
with Four Seasons Hotel, Jack Nicklaus golf course - voted #1 resort  
course in the world by Conde Nash - tennis, and walking/running  
trails all within a beautiful secure gated area.  
 
Staff of 4 - manager/houseman, cook/maid, cleaner, and gardener; two  
of which live on site in the separate gatehouse.  
 
Security guards are on duty 24/7 throughout the common gated area of  
Ranchos Estates and along the beach. Like all of the 20 properties  
of Ranchos Estates, Casa Clara has a prominent entry gate, which are  
in addition to the main Ranchos security gates.  
 
State-of-the-art water supply with pure drinking water throughout. 
  
Underground waste water treatment plant and 3 cisterns re-use  
treated water for irrigation covered by desert 'oasis' garden.
