Our graceful condo filled with art and light is the perfect place to
return to the best of yourself. We are located in the lovely Casa
que Ve al Mar just steps from La Ropa beach.

Back in 1978 when we first came to Zihuatanejo, it was a sleepy
fishing village, where you could spend all day at the beach lying
under a palapa. You could take an occasional plunge in the gentle
surf, sip a pina colada, dine on the freshest fish, and take a
nighttime stroll under more stars than you could ever dream up.

That was almost thirty years ago, and hardly anything has changed.

 
La Ropa Beach is a five minute walk down the hill with its arc of
crystalline white sand, gentle waves, beachside restaurants and the
area's finest luxury hotels. You can swim, get a beachside massage,
dine at one of 16 beach front restaurants and lounge under a palapa.

The authentic fishing village of Zihuatanejo, with its charming
cobble stoned streets, is only a 15 minute walk away. El Centro
offers shopping, spas, yoga, dancing, dining, sunset cruises, and
deep sea fishing. You can buy the morning's fresh catch at the
harbor or stock up on supplies at the Mercado Central, an old world
style market place. Bring some room in your suitcase for the
treasures of locally made handicrafts you will find in the Artisan
Market.

To the north and south are open water beaches with world class
surfing. Ixtapa has two golf courses (one by our friend, Robert
Trent Jones, Jr.), swimming with dolphins and tons of nightlife.

This is our dream of a place by the sea and our private hideaway.

It is convenient, serene and offers up all of Zi's natural splendor. We would be pleased to share that dream with you.

Fine Details:
Sueno del Mar was designed by the 'queen of cool' (me, Harriet). It
is filled with incredible folk art bought over the years (mostly in
the highlands of Mexico). We have no mass produced art in the condo.

The living room floors are sand-blasted marble inlaid with a wave
design and the bedrooms have geometric inlaid designs. The walls are
hand waxed plaster; the cabinetry is hand made tropical hardwood;
the iron handles are hand forged and the counter tops are poured
colored concrete.

The main room is a Mexican style al fresco room, just like a
terrace, only it's your living room! It has a beautiful handmade
wormwood dining table that seats 6. The kitchen eating bar has 2
hand embossed leather stools.

The master bedroom opens directly onto the bay with its own terrace. Lift your head off the pillow to watch the boats dancing in the bay!
