Vacation Rental Description

This authentic Maine cottage has created wonderful beach memories 
for several generations.  Ideally located on a small spit of coast 
that locals call "South Point," the house is on the edge of a 
picture postcard sandy beach that stretches for 3 miles.  It is also 
a 5 minute walk from a rocky section of coast ideal for exploring 
tidal pools or watching birds.

Vacation Rental Amenities

The house combines the charm of bygone summers with the conveniences 
of an easy, casual vacation.  A large, sunny living room provides a 
great place for board games and puzzles.  Or, read a book or tell a 
ghost story in front of the wood-burning fireplace.  A bright eat-in 
kitchen contains the usual amenities, including a microwave and 
dishwasher.  The kitchen opens onto a deck with two eating areas 
with umbrellas and two charcoal grills.  Upstairs there are four 
sunny bedrooms (king, double,double, and single) with two full 
bathrooms.  In addition, there is a separate guest apartment which 
is attached to the main house.  The apartment has its own living 
room, eat-in kitchen, and another bedroom (queen) with its own full 
bathroom.

Activities and Attractions

Because of its proximity to the beach, the house is ideal for all 
manner of beach activities, including sunbathing, swimming, 
surfing,snorkeling, kite-flying etc.  Since the house is also only a 
5 minute walk from a rocky stretch of coastline, fishing, kayaking, 
birdwatching, daydreaming or dogwalking are all easily arranged.

The South Point neighborhood of Biddeford Pool is a small family-
oriented, enclave-within-an-enclave.  An ice cream truck wanders 
lazily through the streets each afternoon, its music summoning 
children from surrounding cottages.  The entrance to a scenic 
Audubon nature preserve is a short stroll from the cottage.  The 
walking trail in the preserve features classic Maine scenery--bold 
rocks, graceful pines, and a dramatic view of the nearby Wood Island 
Lighthouse.

A 15 minute walk takes you into the picturesque village of Biddeford 
Pool, complete with general store, lobster pound and post office.  
The small harbour (the "Pool") is ideal for kayaking, sailing or 
watching lobstermen.

Vacation Rental Rates

May 31 - June 28 $2300 per week.
June 28 - August 30  $3400 per week.
Pets ok with owner's permission, additional charge of $150 per week 
per pet.
Mandatory housekeeping fee is required.
Maine sales tax of 7% of the total amount of rent is required.
Property is also available for long term winter seasonal rental 
running from September to mid-May at lower monthly rate.
