Vacation Rental Description

Il Borghetto di San Gimiganno is an ancient villa that belonged to a 
famous and noble Florentine family in 1600 and then to the Royal 
House of the Savoia. It was restored respecting the different 
architectural and historical periods in which it was built, 
recovering and valorising the structures, and highlighting the 
elements and portions that go back even as far as the Middle Ages.

It is made up of the manor Villa and its annexes. nor villa and its

Located in a beautiful hillside position, directly on the ancient 
panoramic road which leads to the famous medieval town of San 
Gimignano and its famous towers, il Borghetto is in a central 
location: close to all major sights in Tuscany at easy driving 
distance,  though 2 km off the beaten track, here it seems far away 
from everything, peaceful and quiet.

The villa is surrounded by a large park with centuries-old cypress 
trees. Guests can wander through the lanes among a rich variety of 
green plants, colourful flowers and delightful scents, or enjoy the 
shade under a delightful gazebo with wrought-iron tables and chairs. 
At the top of the slope where all the villa is located there is the 
swimming pool (16x 8-meter) which is open for our guests with any 
restriction. It is amidst olive-oil trees, there is a boundless view 
of the area from there, in bright days it is possible  to  see the 
mountains 80 kms away.

For lovers of  fine cuisine and prestigious wines, our club –la 
Stanza del Duca- is pleased to offer to our guests the possibility 
to dine three times a week in the magnificent gardens or else by 
candlelight in the romantic cellar. Our cook creates traditional 
home made Tuscan dishes accompanied by local wines and our own extra-
virgin olive oil.

The villa has ample private parking spaces located inside the 
property. 

Vacation Rental Amenities

The accommodation is divided into apartments of different sizes 
(from 50 to 120 squares metres)  and typology to better satisfy the 
varying needs of the guests. 

They are one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments with one or two 
bathrooms. Each apartment sleeps a minimum of 2 to a maximum of 6 
people and is composed of a living room, kitchenette, some have a 
private terrace or garden or patio and view of the surrounding 
countryside.

According to the  requests we receive  we will be pleased to e-mail 
all information with detailed description of the apartment and its 
pictures, its price and payment and cancellation policy.

All apartments are equipped with the following comforts: heating/air 
conditioning, kitchen with a cooking board, sink, refrigerator with 
freezer, microwave with grill function,  dishwasher (only in the 
larger  apartments), toaster, moka (Italian coffee maker) and all 
the main kitchen utensils. 

There is a large supermarket on the road to il Borghetto, 6 km from 
here.

Then all apartments have  cable TV with international channels and  
telephone. Some have a fireplace and all are furnished to recreate 
that typical Tuscan atmosphere that is characterized by the style 
and taste that have always distinguished this region.

Activities and Attractions

Thanks its central position in the heart of Tuscany Il Borghetto is 
an ideal starting point for those guests who want to discover the 
most beautiful and evocative places this region has to offer. 

The most important cities and provinces of the arts, such as Siena, 
Firenze, Lucca, Arezzo and Cortona, Pisa, Pistoia, Volterra and of 
course San Gimignano with their piazzas, streets, museums, represent 
a fascinating stage for art lovers. 

These towns are all at easy drive from Il Borghetto, being 1 hour 
maximum by car.
San Gimignano 4 km, Firenze 40 km, Siena 30 km, Arezzo 90 km, 
Volterra 30 km, Pisa and Pistoia 90 km, Lucca 100 km , the Chianti 
region 30 km and the Tyrrhenian sea 90 km away.

Sport and nature enthusiastic may take excursions on foot, on 
horseback or on mountain bike and wander through woods and 
vineyards, ruins of old churches, castles and lovely old farm 
buildings. 

Golf Club (18 holes) is 12 km away, 
Tennis-courts and horse-riding are 4 km away.
Airports: Firenze Peretola 50 km, Pisa Galileo Galilei 80 km.

common room; the cost is Euros 5,00 per cycle of washing or drying.

Children are welcome guests but, given the structure of the house 
and of the land, the antique furniture, Il Borghetto is not so 
suitable to them also due to the absence of equipped areas suitable 
for playing.
