Our new retreat home is located on 37 acres of virgin rain forest that
has been in our family for over 30 years in the community of San
Rafael de Varablanca. We are 50 minutes from the principal Costa Rican
airport in Alajuela (just outside the capital of San Jose). This is
rural dairy farm country 15 minutes from the Poas Volcano Poas
National Forest and 10 minutes to La Paz Waterfall Gardens. A great
spot for nature lovers, adventurers or those who want the tranquility
of farm country life yet a convenient and central location for trips
to the Atlantic or Pacific coast, Tortuguero, Volcanoes, Wetlands,
Sarapiqui and many National Parks.

Magnificent multiple panoramic views from the veranda, kitchen
and living room. 4 bedrooms:two with double beds, one with a bunk bed
and one with a single and a bunk. A large comfortable main room with
dinning table and couches. Fire wood is provided for the wood stoves
in the main room and downstairs master bedroom.
Free hi-speed internet. The ONLY home in the entire region to offer
such a service... a wireless signal piped through the jungle from over
70 miles away! This is NOT a guaranteed service as the signal depends
upon many factors beyond our control but it works well. If it is not
available there is cheap access close by.
Fresh milk available on demand, house keeping services and horseback
riding available upon request, milk farm tour, kilometers of trails
with many possible animal sightings such as sloth, tapir, coati,
armadillo, quetzal, howler monkey, parrots, and many different kinds
of bird life are all available upon
A fully equipped kitchen with dishes for serving ten people and a
laundry room with washer and dryer.
The downstairs bath has a luxurious two person bath tub with
limitless hot water. Please note that the tub does NOT have jacquzzi jets.
For an additional fee you can arrange for Terri, the house-manager, to
cook your meals, do washing or extra cleaning.
Our Toyota Camry, when not in use, is available to rent at unbeatable

Located on 35 acres of virgin growth forest near close to many incredible natural attractions. On the property are trails, natural springs,a river and wildlife (the Quetzal is frequently seen). An
ideal location to enjoy the beauty of Costa Rica's mountain interior.

- 15 minutes to Poas Volcano National Park
- 5 minutes to La Paz Waterfall Gardens (A Costa Rican must see!)
- 40 minutes to La Virgen, Sarapiqui, and Poso Azul recreation
areas which include horse back riding, river rafting, canopy zip
lines, butterfly gardens, etc.
- 90 minutes to the natural hot springs of Volcan Arenal. (A
world class experience)
- 20 minutes to coffee plantation tours

$700 per week.
For longer stays the 2nd week is $600, 3rd week is 500, 4th week and more is $400.
