Vacation Rental Description

Luxury and comfort combine with gorgeous views at The Blue Parrot, a  
truly tropical-style home that features direct access to miles of  
unspoiled beach and the Gulf of Mexico. Located just 300 feet from  
the beach, the house is light and airy throughout, from each of its  
4 bedrooms to the spacious family room whose disappearing glass  
sliders open onto a 20’ screened lanai deck with a breathtaking view of the  
Gulf of Mexico.  
 
Ascend the spiral staircase to the large roof deck  
with its panoramic views of the entire island. You will not miss a  
single sunset or sunrise at the Blue Parrot. Evening and morning  
skies offer an ever-changing palette of color to create  
unforgettable  
vistas of Cayo Costa, Captiva Pass, the Bay, and the Gulf of Mexico.  
 
Blue Parrot is an ideal vacation rental for a large family or two  
families vacationing together. On the first level this newly built  
house (2003) has its own private hot tub spa and deck set among  
meticulously landscaped tropical grounds. Relax on the adjacent  
shaded lower level deck, with comfortable seating and a Barbeque  
area. Enter the house on the second or bedroom level. Blue Parrot is  
set high so that every room features wonderful light and pretty  
views. Here the master suite has a king size bed, its own bath,  
satellite TV, and a private screened deck, furnished to create a  
perfect private nook. The second bedroom has twin beds (and a pull- 
out trundle). The third bedroom has a queen bed with hall bath  
adjacent and its own TV/DVD. With a queen bed and its own TV/DVD,  
the fourth bedroom is ideal for a second couple. Our deluxe mattresses  
and bedding were carefully chosen to give us (and you!) a wonderful  
night’s sleep.  On the third level, the great room with vaulted  
ceiling, many windows, and disappearing sliding glass doors steps  
out to the 20-foot screened deck with outdoor seating for 8, and  
gorgeous views of the Gulf of Mexico, the Beach, and nightly sunsets. The  
kitchen of Blue Parrot is equipped with every convenience and  
features Silestone counters and a bar, with seating for 4. Nearby is  
a dining table accommodating 8.  
 
Our entertainment area and living room feature high-speed internet  
access/wireless internet, large-screen color TV with satellite  
reception and DVD/VCR, as well as stereo system with CD and tape  
player, books and games. Looking out on the Gulf of Mexcio, this  
lovely room features lots of natural light and mood lighting for  
evenings. The comfortable sofas are an inviting place to gather to  
watch the spectacle of the setting sun, read one of the books from  
our library, or watch your favorite show.  
 
Finally, ascend the spiral staircase to the large roof deck with  
panoramic views of the island and water. The roof deck is a perfect  
spot to sun, bird-watch, or relax, with views of the entire island,  
Cayo Costa, Captiva Pass and the Bay. Bring your coffee up in the  
early morning for a sunrise you will never forget.   
 
As guests of the Blue Parrot, you will have your own private golf  
cart with which to explore miles of sandy paths. All Blue Parrot  
guests are also entitled to unlimited use of the North Captiva  
Island Club’s facilities: 2 pools, tennis courts, playground, fitness  
center and steam room, and private dining facility.  
 
Best of all, our home is cared for by our private property manager  
who maintains the home and grounds with meticulous attention, greets  
and transports our guests to and from the dock, and acquaints them  
with all of the Blue Parrot’s features. Our caretaker has an  
intimate knowledge of North Captiva Island and of the attractions and  
features of nearby islands and the mainland as well. He will assist you in  
resupplying your groceries if needed, arrange for fishing charters  
or other day trips, and answer—or get the answer!—to any questions you  
have.

Activities and Attractions

All guests of The Blue Parrot enjoy full privileges and use of the  
facilities of the North Captiva Island Club, including: 
 
2 swimming pools (Olympic sized heated/cooled, and lap sized  
heated), and a jacuzzi;  
Spa facility with steam room, sauna, changing rooms and lockers  
2 lighted Har-Tru tennis courts, basketball court, and sand  
volleyball court  
North Captiva Island Club dining room for guests  
Hidden Cove Pool bar, where a poolside lunch and drinks are  
available  
Mangos General Store (basic provisions)  
 
No cars and acres of sandy paths provide miles of hiking, biking and  
walking trails on North Captiva. In addition to unlimited use of all  
Island Club facilities, guests of the Blue Parrot have enjoyed many  
of these activites, both on the island and off. 
 
Watersports Boat Rental and Waverunner Tours: North Captiva  
Watersports, including: boat rentals (full and half day), waverunner  
tours (1 or 2 person), fishing poles (small fee, by week), and bait. 
 
Hiking/Biking/Jogging: In addition to the trails of the State Nature  
Preserve, the miles of sandy lanes on North Captiva are ideal for  
hiking, biking and jogging. 
 
Kayaking: Launch from the North Captiva Island Club Dock to explore  
the canal and bay. It is not uncommon to have dolphin as your  
traveling companions! 
 
Fishing Poles and Bait: There is excellent surfcasting off the  
beach, or you can try your luck at the pier and canal by Barnacle Phil's,  
or the Bay, on the sandy beach at the end of the airstrip. 
 
Fishing Charters: Our property manager will be happy to help you  
arrange a fishing charter with one of our local knowledgable  
Captains.  
 
Shelling: Dozens of varieties of rare and beautiful shells can be  
found on our miles of beach. Early morning is best, but a beach walk  
at virtually any time of day will yield treasures.

$3200 per week/High Season (Christmas,New Year's; March 10-April 27) 
$2100 per week/Mid Season (Jan/Feb, April 28th-August 31st) 
$1800 per week/Low Season (Sept.1-Nov.15th)
