Grandpa’s Cottage sits majestically one street back from the harbor’s edge, capturing wide-ranging
views of the harbor, distant islands and the picturesque village of Stonington. Situated on nearly
an acre on a dead end street, the home provides a peaceful setting to appreciate the beautiful
surroundings whether from inside, while picnicking in the yard, or lounging on the wrap around
deck. It is only a quick walk in to downtown Stonington from this much desired convenient
location.
Grandpa’s Cottage, as the name would imply, is a loving family home full of cherished memories.
Its welcoming and relaxed environment will have you feel right at home. Decorated with antiques
and family heirlooms, the home offers tranquil reminders of years past. Rooms are spacious and
almost every room captures the surrounding harbor views. Downstairs you’ll find a large country
eat-in kitchen, with ample cabinets and counter space, table seating for four, and the kitchen sink
window looking out to the harbor. The adjacent dining room offers seating for six on its finer oak
table and buffet. The living room offer plentiful seating for the family to gather, with bay
windows looking out to the active harbor scene.
Before heading up the main stairway, take a peak at the “old ships door” to the storage area under
the stairs, reminding us of the homes seafaring connection. The upstairs can be accessed by the
main stairway off the living room, or the back stairway off the kitchen. Upstairs are 3 bedrooms
and full bath. The two exterior bedrooms have double beds and look out to the harbor. The middle
bedroom has a twin bed, and looks to the back side of the property.
Granpa's Cottage provides a "home away from home" in one of Stonington's most desired
neighborhoods - Greenhead.
