Vacation Rental Description

Come and get away from the hectic life of day to day living.  From the moment you walk in the door 
of this quaint cabin in the woods and on the lovely  Horne lake, you will feel all your worries 
being left behind. The Cabin is set up from the lake front with 140 feet of water front below you, 
as you look down the lake, to the mountains and trees around the lake.  The cabin is all wood inside 
with that real cabin feeling, yet only 15 minutes away from grocery stores. You can stand or sit on 
the deck and watch the kids play in the water, watch the sunset go down with a glass of wine, or 
enjoy a cup of coffee as you watch the sun come up. OR you can wander down to the dock and enjoy all 
this from the bench on the dock. This has been our salvation over the years to get down to what is 
really real in life. Nature, family or quiet time is all fulfilling here.

Vacation Rental Amenities

This lovely cabin has 2 bedrooms, the kids bedroom has a double bunk bed with a single bed above, 
dresser and desk with a open window looking over the lake view.  Master bedroom enjoys a comfortable 
queen bed, wardrobe and vanity.  Both bedrooms have the logs beams crossing through them, further 
adding to the charm of this 650 square foot cabin.  The living room enjoys two couches, and chair 
and a wonderful wood-stove, that keeps you toasty and warm on those chilly nights. 
Kitchen has open seating looking into the living room and a large window to sit and enjoy the view 
of the lake. Propane stove, fridge and lights. Lights powered by a generator are also available.  
The bathroom offers flush toilet and hot running shower.
Outside has a lovely  grassed sitting area up top with wood stove and lovely wooden rocking bench 
to enjoy the view, or relax , along with a hammock for reading that book that you never had time for 
or just resting your eyes in the quiet tranquil space of nature. There are Kayaks available and 
some water toys.  Dock and boat lift for your boat. ( Please inquire as to weights and cost for 
these)  Below near the water is a fire pit for camp fires ( weather permitting for the use of any 
fires and the season.)B B Q  available

Activities and Attractions

Boating,fishing, skiing, tubing, Kayaking, hiking, bike riding and exploring the world famous caves 
at Horne Lake.  Salmon fishing available about 15 minutes away in Bowser, Shopping in the quaint 
town of Qualicum or 30 minute drive to Courtenay to shop or head up Mount Washington for skiing or 
hiking. Watch the Wake board competitions in July at the regional camp site at the end of the lake. 
or just take a walk.  Our favorite time is enjoying sitting on the dock with the kids at the end of 
the day and watching the sun go down or laying on the dock to watch the "sputniks" in the sky or see 
clearly the stars in the blackness of nature.  No street lights here.
If you are lucky you will see some of the wild life in the area while visiting. 
Where ever you come from spending time at the cabin, be it in the summer or winter, it is always 
relaxing and you will come away feeling relaxed and rejuvenated.

Winter : ( Jan 3 - Mar 20; Oct 10 - Dec 15): $600/wk
Spring/Fall : ( Mar 21- June 15; Sept 15 - Oct 9) $750/wk
Summer: (June 16 - Sept 14th)  $900/wk
