Disappointed and Frustrated with events at rental

The following is communication I had with owner, I requested a refund of one nights fees which seemed reasonable for what took place and was denied, owner stated I could have another night...(problem would still exist)

Hi Jim,
I do want to start out by thanking you for allowing us to stay at your property. As agreed we did take very good care of it and followed the instructions for cleaning when we left today. There was a couple of issues that did cause a problem. Please I do not mean any disrespect but thought you would want to know.

Zack is a fine watch dog and is very protective of the premises. On Friday it seems he was left at the property by himself. My wife and I met him when we got there and he barked some but settled down. In the night my wife and I were down at the Palapa trying to enjoy the peace and beauty of your beach and setting. Zack had other ideas he saw a stranger down at the Palapa and he was relentless in his barking, which is what he should do. I did try going back up to him and show him it was us and it was “ok” but he wasn’t buying it.

So it kind of ruined the evening so we just went inside.

On Saturday we got on the river and came back about 2pm to get out of the sun. We walked up on a guy ripping 2x10 lumber to redo a trellis on the studio ( please see attached photos). We had intended to eat lunch on the patio area by the sliding glass door. But with all that cutting going on it was like we were in the middle of a construction zone. So we went upstairs to lay down and perhaps take nap and let the sun go down a bit that was not possible as you could still hear the saw.

I was relatively sure that when the construction guy saw us he would stop his work and finish at another time. I was also as certain that he would not be working on Sunday, I was wrong there too.

We were suppose to have another family come along with us and they have 2 small children, probably lucky they didn’t come along. I walked up on a plugged in unattended chop saw…(see photo attached) Needless to say that’s extremely dangerous and can cause a lot of problems. It seemed pretty evident to my wife and I that this guy was going to be working throughout the day on Sunday and probably Monday too so my wife and I decided to leave for home about 2 pm on Sunday.

Jim I do realize repairs and maintenance is required at any property but if you had told me this was going to be happening on this weekend I would have declined this weekend.

wedding of our dreams!

My husband and I had our wedding here last June. It was perfect in every way possible! We had the ceremony on the small deck overlooking the river and the reception on the beach. The whole weekend was a fairytale! Theowners were amazing and very easy to work with. The house is located in a perfect area right at the river opening to fishers landing. It made for an awesome entrance for the groom and men to arrive in the jet boats! The house is very clean and spacious inside. With lots of extra sleeping places. Thank you so much to James, his wife and to Michelle (property manager) for making the location for our wedding perfect and easy!

Recommended for: families with young children, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sight seeing, romantic getaway

The "A" frame house at Fishers Landing

We had a wonderful time. The house was very comfortable and spacious. The beach area was gorgous and the views at sunset ... Priceless. Thank you Jim.
