Tamarack Pines in Bear Valley

The Tamarack Pines is a family-friendly, peaceful mountain retreat
that is open year round. All rooms are equipped with VCRs,
microwaves, refrigerators and coffee makers.

We have easy access and parking off Highway 4. We are not snowbound
and our guests have unrestricted use of the parking lot just steps
from the front door.

We have an extensive library of Videos for the in room VCR Players.
We also have a book exchange. Feel free to pick from our selection
and if you have any old books you'd like to leave for the next group
of guests, that would be great.

The Tamarack Pines is a perfect getaway for the family, the outdoor
enthusiast or the urban escapist. It provides easy access to both
winter and summer sports like mountain biking, hiking, sledding,
downhill and cross-country skiing. We are 5 miles from Bear Valley
Mountain Resort and Lake Alpine. We are two miles away from Bear
Valley Village. Consider us to host family reunions, business
retreats, sports club events or school groups. Perfect for larger
groups as well. We can accommodate up to 25!

Standard Rooms have Queen Bed, private bathroom, VCR, Microwave, mini
refrigerator and full coffee service.

Kitchen Suites sleep four, Private bathroom, VCR, Satellite TV, Full
kitchen with stove, microwave, refrigerator and all utensils and
cookware.

History

For more than eighty years Camp Tamarack was called Onion Valley due
to the profusion of wild onions growing in the area. It was mainly
used as a summer stock range. In the late 1860-70's, a sawmill was
operated by C. Brown. Later a man called "Turkey" Johnson came every
summer with sheep, pigs, chickens and turkeys. Tamarack Pines Inn
was originally built in the 1930s as a mountain cabin and once
belonged to Camp Tamarack. The Inn has been recently remodeled and
has become a popular destination year-round, with special emphasis
on family and small groups. Children are most welcome!
