Authentic Log Cabin on Torch Lake, sharing 262' frontage with seven other cottages. This cottage is just steps from the shore line, and has a deck on it's south side to enjoy the views. This is a vintage Bellaire Log Cabin and was made as a kit in Bellaire, and built on site in the 60's. The interior is the original cedar logs, but we added a new kithen, complete with granite countertops. There is one bathroom with a shower, sink, and toilet. This cabin is located just north of Alden, Michigan, and about 1 mile south of the Clam River. To the north is the village of Bellaire, home of Short's Brewpub, Lulu's fine dining, Moka's cafe and wine shop, Toonie's family dining, the Bellaire Smokehouse, a movie theatre, and much more.
This cabin had two bedrooms, one with a double bed, and one with bunkbeds. So, it sleeps a maximum of four. There is a new kithen with stove, oven, microwave, two small refrigerators, a microwave, coffemaker, toaster, pots and pans, dishes and silverware, etc. There is a Weber kettle grill on the deck, along with a small table and chairs. The beds have fresh linens, and kithen and bath towels are provided, you will want to bring plenty of beach towels.
Put the cooler in the car (empty), and head for Moka's in Bellaire. Start with some fine java and pastries, and have Bill suggest some fine wine to take with. Get some of their outstanding sandwiches to go. Put the sandwiches and wine in the cooler, and go play golf. On the way home from golf, pick up some smoked fish and steaks for the grill at the Bellaire Smokehouse. Grab a Growler (to go jug-o-beer) at Short's Microbrewery, and head back to the cottage for a nap. Put the steaks and fish and beer in the fridge for tomorrow, because tonight you're going to Lulu's! No longer Bellaire's best kept secret, Lulu's is on everyone's top ten Michigan restaurant list. Whether you want to go crazy on a five-star gourmet meal, or just have a giant salad or awesome pizza, you are in for a treat. Tomorrow could be parasailing in the bay, or a hot-air balloon ride, or cruising at the skate park in Traverse City, or playing extreme miniature golf. Elk Rapids, Charlevoix, and Petosky are all less than an hour away. Old Mission Peninsula wine country is 45 minutes away, with tastings and music and endless special events. All summer long, there are several events every weekend competing for your attention. There are casinos in T.C. and Petosky.
$700/week off season, $1200/week Memorial Day through Labor Day. Nightly Rentals during off season only, minimum 3 nights and $85 cleaning fee. Last minute nightly rentals may also be available. Closed Dec-March.
