The Little Ark - a 2 BR pool home with Gulf views in North Captiva Island

This vacation home, The Little Ark, is located in the North Captiva Island Club Resort, known for its pristine white beaches, lush tropical vegetation and some of the best shelling in the world.  North Captiva offers all the conveniences, amenities and activities of a traditional luxury resort while at the same time offering the tranquility of Florida's natural environment, where you can enjoy walking for miles and not seeing any signs of civilization, except the footprints you leave in the sand.   

Located on a nicely landscaped lot with fruit trees and coconut palms, this two bedroom beach house is just a few steps from the beach and is an ideal intimate vacation spot.  Sit in your own private rooftop spa and enjoy unobstructed views of the sunset over the Gulf of Mexico. Just a few steps up from the beach, this single level home is entered through an attractive screened deck perfect for dining or just relaxing.  The kitchen has modern upgraded appliances and is fully equipped.  The living room is furnished with a couch (with a pull out bed), love seat and chair with ottoman.  There is a 46 inch plasma flat screen TV with Direct TV satellite program, DVD, VCR.  The Little Ark offers hi-speed internet/wifi at no extra cost. The master bedroom features a queen size bed and private bath.  The second bedroom has twin beds with a beautiful full bath only steps away.  Below the home is a hot and cold enclosed shower for freshening up after combing the nearby beach for shells.  There is also your own private heated pool surrounded by an enclosed deck.

Rental of The Little Ark includes use of all the amenities of the NCIC facilities at no charge:  2 pools, hot tub, exercise room,  lighted Har-Tru tennis courts, spa, sauna, kayaks, bicycles, fishing poles beach chairs and umbrellas, kids playground and basketball half court.  Since there are no cars or paved roads on the island, your rental also includes a four person electric golf cart for your entire stay.  There is also a 700 acre State Land Preserve with walking trails.

On the island is a pool bar, restaurants, small grocery store, and gift shop.  For an additional cost you can enjoy wave runners and boats, parasailing, fishing charters, day trips, and even a short boat ride to an 18 hole golf course at the Alden Pines Country Club.  Boat dockage at the marina can be arranged.  Contact us for availability and pricing.

North Captiva Island is the best-kept secret in Florida: only four miles long and half a mile wide, North Captiva is a Caribbean-like barrier island.  Access to the island is by water taxi only, ensuring privacy and tranquility.  It is a place of sun and sand...of tropical breezes...a place with plenty to do....or nothing to do.

It is important to note that even though this home is advertised and rented by the owners, on site management is thru the North Captiva Island Club which means if there are any problems during your stay, you will be immediately assisted by the NCIC staff.

What is there to do on the island?
Relax! At our home you can read, watch the big-screen TV, use our
video tapes, play board games or do puzzles, relax in the hot tub,
or swim in the private, heated pool.
You can walk the beach, collect shells, swim in the larger pool
at the club or the in gulf, cruise in a golf cart, play tennis, or
work out at the fitness center. The island has an abundance of
wildlife (including the gopher tortise that lives in the yard!) and
is an excellent place for birdwatching.
