Stayed here with my parents, husband, 3 daughters & dog and had plenty of room! The livingroom is huge with new furniture, not shown in the pictures. Everything you need in the kitchen is provided.
We found it to be VERY clean for a Cottage. The bathrooms were spotless, Water pressure was fine. If you use alot of water before going to bed, there is some noise from the pump. This was not intolerable.
The rooms are connected, but we're all family, so it was also a non issue.
It was nice to have the extra 1/2 bath. There is an indentation right in front of the sink, but it doesn't interfere, unless you stand with your feet perfectly together.....
Great dock with boat hoist. The sand bar was a big hit with the kids, too.
Would recommend to anyone coming up to the area.

I would not recommend renting this cottage. This place needs some serious TLC. Firstly, the owners should disclose that all 3 bedrooms are adjoined=NO PRIVACY. If you want to use the kitchen, go outside,or the 1st bedroom occupant needs to use the facilities, you must walk through the 2nd bedroom. The louver doors were very dusty.
The water pressure was virtually non-existent and the water pump/heater is VERY NOISY. It "pops and crackles" almost constantly, keeping the 3rd bedroom awake at night.
The 1/2 bathroom has a hole in the floor approximately 6" in diameter directly in front of the sink, covered by the carpet and a rug. My feet sunk into the hole as I was trying to brush my teeth with the small trickle of water.
The shower was flush with mold (black) and mildew. Very musty smell.
The window screens either had holes in them or no screen at all (3rd bedroom) therefore, allowing the mosquitos and other flying insects free reign of the cottage.
Now, had the weather been better, we would have spent more time outside and perhaps these discrepancies would not have been so apparent, but regardless, this place needs an overhaul and I would not rent this place again.

P.S. We checked out early and got a hotel

Perfect Place to Rest Your Soul

The Crooked Key Cottage is the perfect place to rest and relax in a secluded, quiet environment with a beautiful view of a lovely lake. Crooked Lake is clean and cool the private dock is the perfect place to watch the spectacular sunsets over Oden Island. The property is well-maintained and comfortable, very homey with everything you need. There is a wood-burning fireplace in the living room. The kitchen has anything you could need to cook meals with plenty of everything. Although Crooked Lake is secluded, it is also conveniently located near Glen's food market, and the strip mall that has everything you need, including a nail salon, gas station, bagel shop, restaurants, and laundromat.

Recommended for: age 55+, people with disabilities
