Love this house! We stayed here February 6-14, 2010, visiting family; skied Mt. Bachelor. The pictures and description do not nearly do this house justice. The house is immaculate, in an upscale neighborhood close to town. The house is well equipped with everything you need; more like your own vacation home than a rental home. Furniture is like new, wall decorations are nice, granite counters, quality carpet and tile flooring, and it has the little extras that make it homey. The master bedroom is huge, with a shower, jetted tub, double sinks, walk-in closet, tv, dvd, bose clock radio, luxurious sheets and comforters. Lots of plush towels. The second bedroom has a queen bed, the third bedroom bunk beds & TV. The living room sofa converts to a queen bed. The living/dining room is very spacious, fun for big family meals. Trunk full of board games. The kitchen/family room is where we spent most of our time, nine family members gathered comfortably by the gas fireplace (puts out a lot of heat). Big screen HD TV, all the movie channels, DVD player. Kitchen has everything; fresh spices, plenty of equipment for big meals. Good supply of coffee, flour, sugar, condiments, etc.(although we did not use them, because we were unsure if we should). Family room is spacious but cozy, a perfect setting for family gatherings. Back porch with hot tub, very well maintained, ready to go. No neighbors to the rear. Good views of the mountains. Walking paths, low lighting, stars are brilliant at night. Very easy to quickly settle in; thermostats and controls easy to operate. We did not have to call the owners even once; no problems at all. The owners (not a rental company) are very hospitable and professional. I asked a lot of questions, which they were happy to answer. They texted to follow up on day 2 to make sure everyting was okay. They were easy to do business with, and made sure we had a nice stay. After we left, they followed up again to make sure we were satisfied, and promptly returned the security deposit. In summary, rave reviews for this house. We thought that we would go out every night, but we ended up spending most of our time here because it was so nice. We will definitely stay here on our next visit.
P.S. Bend is a very pet-friendly town, so it is hard to find a "no pet" rental. We love pets, but we do not like animal smells or dander in our home. This house had that "new house" smell, extremely clean, and we prefer it that way. Same feelings about smokers.
