A classic Victorian farmhouse in the historic waterfront hamlet of
New Suffolk. Just five blocks from sandy Peconic bay beaches, and
easy walking distance to marinas, fishing station and a great casual
restaurant.
Comfortable and casual with lots of room to spread out in the large
living room, library or huge wainscoted eat-in kitchen. Master suite
(full-size bed) with full bath is on the ground floor, along with
another half bath; three more bedrooms (full, twins, and a single)
and a full bath upstairs.
The sunny front porch is furnished with white wicker; the back yard
has a picnic table, BBQ, Adirondack chairs, hammock, herb and flower
gardens.
This is our weekend home and we've furnished it accordingly. You'll
find 100% cotton sheets on all the beds, plenty of towels. All the
usual appliances and technology: gas stove, dishwasher, washer/dryer,
microwave, TV/DVD/VCR, stereo, cable, internet access. Lots of
books. Charcoal grill. Bikes and beach chairs.
The North Fork is a perfect summer (and fall) place -- lots of
beaches, wineries and farmstands to visit. Boating, golf,
restaurants. And that great Long Island light loved by artists,
lasting long into the balmy evenings. New Suffolk itself is renowned
for its beaches, its quaint village, fishing stations, fabulous views
across Peconic Bay to Robins Island and the South Fork, and its
historic status as the first US submarine base.
