Activities and Attractions

Castine, a very historic, quaint village nestled along the Mid Coast
of Maine, has something for everyone. The small, off-the-beaten-
track community on the tip of a Penobscot Bay peninsula, situated
between Camden and Bar Harbor, has been described as precious and
lovely. Shop for unique gifts and antiques, dine casually or at a
four-star restaurant, or relax with a drink at one of the local
watering holes. Sail or take a ride on your boat from the harbor.
Kayak off the coast to the many deserted islands in the harbor. Swim
from private beaches or the public beach. Play golf or tennis at the
public clubs. Walk through the woods, visit the lighthouse, or take
a walking tour of the many historic homes and battlefields. Or just
take in the gorgeous views from anywhere in town. Visit Castine and
discover all that it has to offer.
