The beach is only steps away from the house. The location is on a private road within an easy walk along the water to the village center. Weve carefully maintained our two-level home and furnished it with all the comforts of your own home. Vacation Rental AmenitiesGreat Room * cathedral ceiling * TV with basic cable, VCR, and DVD player * high-speed internet connection with wireless access * sectional, denim couch and two rocking chairs * tile floor * fireplace * one wall of windows with a view of private beach and water, with glass sliding doors to deck (at high tide from the couch, only the deck and the water are visible) Kitchen * fully-equipped * lobster pot and lobster utensils provided (order lobsters from Eaton's boatyard!) * dishwasher/disposal * new appliances, including electric stove, toaster oven, microwave, coffee maker and espresso maker * tile floor Deck * overlooks private beach * directly off of great room * Webber charcoal grill (charcoal and starter available at the local grocery store) * deck furniture Beach * private and very quiet * just down the beach is a view of the Castine Harbor Bedrooms * three bedrooms sleep nine * complete set of linens, plenty of pillows, and down comforters or quilts on every bed * master bedroom,carpeted, with master bath, includes a queen size bed, two dressers, a mirror, and a large walk in closet * two smaller tiled bedrooms each include a double bed, a dresser, a mirror, and a closet in the lower walk out level * a spare twin bed is also available just off of the two small bedrooms in the lower level * a double-size futon is available in the lower level tiled living room with a TV and VCR Bathrooms * one and a half full baths on main level, including Jacuzzi tub in master bath * full bath on lower level * complete set of towels Misc * washer/dryer * coat closet * tiled main level (living room, kitchen) * master bedroom on main level and the entire lower level is carpeted * private road has very little traffic * 4 beach chairs available (but no beach towels provided) * house is .7 miles from village center * just 1/2 mile from Yacht Club Activities and AttractionsCastine, a very historic, quaint village nestled along the Mid Coast of Maine, has something for everyone. The small, off-the-beaten- track community on the tip of a Penobscot Bay peninsula, situated between Camden and Bar Harbor, has been described as precious and lovely. Shop for unique gifts and antiques, dine casually or at a four-star restaurant, or relax with a drink at one of the local watering holes. Sail or take a ride on your boat from the harbor. Kayak off the coast to the many deserted islands in the harbor. Swim from private beaches or the public beach. Play golf or tennis at the public clubs. Walk through the woods, visit the lighthouse, or take a walking tour of the many historic homes and battlefields. Or just take in the gorgeous views from anywhere in town.
