Lakefront rancher on Lyons Creek (SW Quad), just off main lake. Great location!!!
Comfortable 3 bedroom, 2 bath home built for year-round living.
Double boathouse with large swim platform and one boat lift available for renters. 
There is also a floating buoy for small boats or a jet ski.  Community boat ramp.

NEW FOR 2010 -  Garapa hardwood decking on boat dock/swim platform. 
NEW FOR 2011- Master bath totally remodeled, large tiled shower - see our pics!

Very private yard, large covered porch overlooking lake.
Flat lot with sandy shoreline - great for children (but water shoes are recommended).

No smoking.

Through May 12: $1,000/week or $225/night (3-night min)
May 12 - June 30: $1,200/week or $250/night (3-night min)
June 30 - July 14: $1,500/week
July 14 - Sept 1: $1,350/week
Sept 1 - Oct 13: $1,200/week or $250/night (3-night min)
Oct 13 - Dec 31: $1,000/week or $225/night (3-night min)

Pet Fee (nonrefundable): $100/week $25/night

Rates include cleaning fee, 6.75% NC taxes are extra.
$250 security/damage deposit required.
Ask about discounts for multiple week bookings.
Monthly rentals available off season: $1,750 + utilities.

50% deposit to reserve; balance due 30 days prior to arrival.

Great House!

We stayed at Hummingbird Haven for 7 nights and we had a total of 8 people in our family! It was perfect for 8. We had plenty of beds and plenty of room. The house is nice and clean. The property was clean and well-maintained. Very private backyard with a great dock and boat house. We loved the fire pit and made smores practically every night. We only went out to eat one night at the Tiki Hut and the food was good. Food Lion grocery store is only 15 minutes away along with the ABC store. Pay Jay's is a little convenient store about 10 minutes away. It was a great place for bait and little odds and ends. The house had plenty of games and movies which the kids loved. It was one of the most relaxing vacations we have ever taken. We went out on our boat every day and my husband and kids enjoyed fishing off the dock. The kids had a great time playing in the water as well. The water was shallow and it was like having our own private little lake. I would definitley recommend hummingbird Haven to a friend.

Hummingbird Heaven!

While it could sleep nine, we really didn't need that much capacity. This year we had four adults; last year we had six adults. It was plenty of room. And there is a big basement with a ping pong table and pool table. The ping pong table got play time but we never had time, or the energy after a day on the lake, to get around to the pool table. Just nice to know that if it had rained we would have had a backup plan. Speaking of rain, it did rain at least once each trip. At night. Excellent timing. We had a nearby ramp to put the boat in, the dock has an open slip with a lift for guest boats (nice for the rain and for when folks come down on fast boats/jetskis making waves). Never took it out of the water the whole week. Got more boating in a week than we do taking it to the river the rest of the summer. This is why we were there.
There are fences in the thick treed spaces between this house and the two neighbors so we could safely take the dog out to play off-leash in the lot between the house and the lake. All there got lots of fresh air and exercise. And laughter to keep you going for weeks!
The bathrooms have been remodeled and are VERY clean and comfortable. Bedrooms and all other areas have ceiling fans. Wonderful porch/deck overlooking the water. You could just chill and hear the hummingbirds before they made it to the feeders.
Didn't like the 20 min drive the nearest grocery store (or the extremely limited selection) but if you pack plenty of water, ice and food in the first trip, you might be able to get by with just one more trip. Veda keeps some supplies there. You won't walk in and not have so much as a paper napkin to use to dry your hands. I make sure to leave some of our paper goods when we go to pass it on.
Only took 288 photos and video clips this year! Hope you have a memorable time, too!

Great home for us!

The owner Veda is very kind and so quick to respond to my inquiry regarding the rental of the home. Hummingbird Haven proved to be a great vacation home for my family. I had difficulty finding a place that is nice, affordable and pet friendly, this home has all of these features and more. The view of lake is spectacular, the dock and boat lifts very nice, the flat lot, short distance to water and gentle sloped swimming area is great for young children and dogs who like to swim. It is very well maintained and equipped with everything one could ever need. It is located on a quiet cove area of the lake with beautiful homes surrounding it. We really enjoyed dining at Watersview Restaurant at Eaton Ferry Bridge which is a very close boat ride from the home. Great Food!! The only drawback is its' distance (about 20-30 minutes) from a supermarket but if you bring plenty of food that is not a problem at all! Would definitely return and recommend it highly.
